netsky etc is all rather bland and middle of the road imo. Shame that stuff is classed as liquid nowadays it's more like pop and bass tbh...

liquid to me will always be calibres first two albums, m.i.s.t's early days etc

The appeal of jungle and DNB for me was that it was the least inbred sounding genre of electronic music, it was one of the few electronic genres which was heavily Influenced by jazz, 70s funk etc through sampling... It was organic sounding compared to other genres which were often purely synthetic. The artists took their outside Influences and embedded them into the genre. It was unquestionably one of if not the most forward thinking genre of music for a brief period during the mid 90s.

Goldie - Timeless
Photek - Form & Function / Modus Operandi
Boymerang - Balance of the force

That was the peak in terms of the genre being its creative best.

Nowadays the genres been around so long that 90% of the stuff released sounds like it was made by people whose only musical influence is other DNB which is a big reason why I don't have the same passion for it as I did in the 90s and early 2000s.

Having said that there is still good stuff being made artists such as:

Stray, Ivy Lab, Fanu, Naibu, Dub Phizix, D-Bridge, Synkro, Jubei, Blocks & Escher and so on

The greatest dnb track never released, made in 95 and was so far ahead of everyone else. Grooverider signed it to Prototype and then lost the DAT and it was never released. This is the only audio of it anywhere in the world.
