In the grounds the Tom Murphy statue is a very evocative Blitz memorial. When the sun catches the little gold ship on top of the spire it is so eye catching.
Liverpool has more Grade 1 listed buildings than any city outside of London. There's all sorts of architecture. I used to love walking people around and watching their jaws drop. Also used to love getting lost in the city, you'd always find an amazing building you've never seen before. I do the same in London.Would you describe that as gothic? I dont really associate Liverpool with gothic. I know the Anglican Cathedral is one of the biggest examples in the UK like but I associate it more with Manchester, whereas Liverpool I associate with neo-classical public buildings.
Ilm sure I'm wrong like and Liverpool has just as many or more gothic buildings than Manchester.
Big fan of these and have been since I was a kid. Had no idea it was called Piazza Fountain, I always knew it as The Buckets:

For me it's a set of buildings, the Walker Art Gallery, Picton library and the Liverpool World museum.
