Whatever you think of Birkenhead, you have to admit the park is great.

Vondelpark in Amsterdam. Peace from the madness of the 'dam.

Stanley Park, Vancouver. Sub-tropical forest surrounded by mountains accessible from the City. Just a lovely place.

Apuseni national park, Romania. Stunning, really unspoiled with loads of walking trails. Forests, valleys, fields, mountains. Magic.

Jesmond Dene in Newcastle is lovely

Not sure you'd class it as a park, but as a greenspace with walking trails, Macclesfield Forest is gorgeous.

The two reservoirs outside of Buxton are good walks too - upper Goyt Valley, I think. Fernilee and Erwood reservoirs. Good trails.

Kedleston Hall is nice near Derby.
