The park where I started my apprenticeship back then in the early 1970s - it had a large plant Nursery - The parks canteen was on the site of the demolition of Glandstones Mansion - the foundation blocks were used as kerbs on the mnain drive of the entrance of the park - once owned by Bibbys Agricultural firm donated to the Huyton UDC on a peanut lease as long as it was used for park purposes - a weired twist as it was in then Liverpool corporation borough, but the engine room of Huyton Parks department producing home-grown trees - Shrubs - Bedding plants, & pot plants on a massive scale - with a large conservertory open to the public - all plants were propagated from scratch -Trees, Shrubs etc
