it should be optional and once there’s been sufficient vaccinations offered out I don’t see that unvaccinated folk should be disadvantaged in their own society, country.
But what if there's not been 'sufficient vaccinations' out? What then for the great unvaxxed?

We should focus the vax on the at-risk groups: old, obese and already-ill. The rest: totally optional, regardless of how many take it up.

I think that’s what he means by sufficient vaccinations mate.

Also, natural immunity is essentially a vaccine.

Some folk on here, and 'experts' in the media, say sufficient is 80+% of total population, regardless of status. To 'prevent spread'. Omicron rather put that theory to bed, but i bet many still believe it, and will push for it. The same people will also say we need such a high rate of vaccination to prevent hospitals overflowing, yet the vast majority of hospitalised are those at-risk groups - who number maybe a third of the population, not 80%.

South Africa has less than a third of total-population vaxxed, and have fewer issues than many in the West (where people are older, fatter and arguably unhealthier).

Germany here is already pushing the hard stuff again: lockdowns, compulsory masks, mandatory jabs, in prep for the cold months ahead. Yet there's no evidence these policies help the greater good, but plenty of evidence such policies are ultimately harmful to a society.

This crap isn't over yet...and i'm not talking about the virus. Ukraine, and reliance on Russian energy (something which incidentally everyone's favourite Goldstein-figure warned us about), is a more significant issue. Already serious talk of rationing heating & electricity this winter. See here, and here.

Some fellow forum alumni thought i was trolling in the Trump & Corona threads, but honestly i was only trying to restore some balance to the thinking. Unsuccessfully, i'm sure...but quite a bit of what i've been saying has been proven relatively accurate.

Anyway...that's my hour killed, no more Current Affairs from me x

i did read it, hence my wording that the vax "reduces sperm count for a few months after taking it." ...also note the boosters haven't yet been included in such studies.

Many women also report the vax doing odd things to their menstrual cycle. See here, here and here.

We don't know what it's doing, but the vax is certainly doing something to the reproductive bits of both women & men. As it's a new vaccine, no long-term studies or analysis has been done yet. Officially, the pro-vax argument puts such side-effects down to 'normal side-effects of the immune response'.

Maybe...but rolling this out worldwide for young healthy folk - who are statistically not-at-risk of serious Covid-illness - is an incredible unforeseeable risk of which i want no part of. Each to their own, tho'.
Good for you. I'll keep it in mind when I talk to the family and friends of the deceased healthy sporty-types 20somethings that died as they weren't in the risk group.

Sometimes I spend almost that long coming up with an elaborate post that makes me laugh, but by then it's so elaborate that no one else will get it, so I don't post it.

Just seeing you post is enough to make me smile B-Rownz. ?

Very sorry to hear that...and plural? Statistically that is a very rare event. For sure warrants further investigation. Were they put on ventilators?

According to the Oxford Risk Calculator: a healthy 25-year old unvaccinated has a 1-in-500,000 chance of dying, and vaccinated has a 1-in-1,000,000.

Assessments of Covid-deaths among young folk tend to identify comorbidities, most common being things like hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes....often combinations thereof.

20-somethings with no comorbidities but dying of Covid are very rare...that you personally know a few is so tragic, and statistically very interesting. Definitely warrants further investigation.

However tragic, it's no argument to mandate or put pressure on the rest of the world's healthy 20-somethings to take the jab...as there's no statistical basis for it, especially when considering the risk/benefit ratio.
