Does anyone think having a shop steward type of poster who isn't a mod (obviously) would be a good idea? Someone to mediate with the mods on behalf of posters who get into a bit of hot water over rules etc?

Imo, it could provide a bridge between those who own and run the site and posters who might feel that they cant put their grievances forward in a diplomatic way and things go from bad to worse for them.

The day I agree is the day I'd need to change every moderator on this forum.

Our moderators are approachable and level headed. Your implying the moderators would hold grudges, which isn't the case. Should anyone ever feel that way, they can treat me as a mediator.

I don't consider anyone to really 'own' GrandOldTeam. I just pay the bills! ('Site Owner' on my profile to make life easier for guests)

GrandOldTeam began its journey on the 5th February 2007 with the intention of providing a 'sound' forum, a user-friendly place which would allow Evertonians from across the world to log on to and discuss the Toffees - and anything else for that matter!

A group of 'us' are tasked with ensuring that remains the case - no owners as such. Just some Blues doing their best!

I know from experience you're as good as your word on that.

The 'shop steward' thing wasn't to imply the mods aren't approachable or remote, but that someone getting in touch with them after a dispute might be at risk of themselves not acting in a level headed way - thus, someone could form an appropriate set of words for them to pass on.

The mods do awesome on here. As much as I'd love to be one there is no way I ever could.

Still #Smithy4Mod will never die.
