Standard transfer budget?

Our normal transfer budget is minus 5m.

I heard that bill has give Martinez 10 million including wages . Might be from the failed fer bid in January . Isnt your figure net lose of money . We must still get a normal transfer kitty even after the debt is payed for that year

lads, question about Fer.

1. He said himself that knee problems werent the reason why the deal collapsed last time? what the hell was it then?

2. Does he have better qualities in any are than Felli?

I read somewhere that his club handed in the papers late - like the Ofoe deal.

didnt he say the other day that the problem was with twente? Anyway if we are still trying to get him, I don't see him as a replacement for Felli but more a partner for Gibson in the middle.

"Yesterday Everton claimed on their own website they reached an agreement with FC Twente about a transfer of Leroy Fer," said Munsterman.
"Today they started up the negotiations once again. During the day they came with all sort of additional conditions about the payment terms and also the transfer fee.
"We won't deal with that. Then there won't be a transfer.
"We don't play that game at Twente. They can come up with any demand they wish but we're not playing along with their demands."

sounds legit.

Nice to see that he still wants to join us. BUT, he was Moyes' target, wonder if Martinez digs him...I suddenly started to think that we wont see Fer here.

worst case scenario we have £20 mil from a felli sale and say £10 mil from the board/heitinga sale I would love:

Strootman £14 mil
Fer: £6 mil
Bony: £10 mil
Alcaraz Free

Howard

Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines

Gibson

Fer Strootman

Mirallas Bony Pienaar

You missed the point. The debt is theirs, if the asking price is £120m & the debt is £40m then the purchaser would look to be giving them £80m for the equity.

If they clear the debt the asking price would remain the same, only they'd clear £120m instead of £80m.

So the net effect to the prospective purchaser is **** all, so it wouldn't be any more attractive as a proposition.

Didn't I read that the Americans Mark 2 cleared the debts apparently left by the Americans Mark 1 across the park?

I know that. And Fellaini's clause is 24.5 million.

Which will prob be something like 10m upfront and the rest in instalments over length of his contract. Very rarely get cash up front these days so people whonsay 'giv the whole 25m to Martinez' are living in cloud cuckoo land!

Out of the list, Victor Wanyama. Strootman is linked with United etc, Fer is more attacking. I would have loved Capoue but seems like he is going to Madrid. Otherwise, if we get 24 million I would not mind say McCarthy and Fer, two midfielders both young and whilst McCarthy would sit and break up play, Fer could offer a bit more going forward.

Fer is not more attacking than Felliani

The more I think about this, the more I think we shall aim higher. Therefore, I have changed my mind.

In the latest report, the media mentioned that Honda is available either on a free or on a small fee. Yesterday I said both Honda and Strootman are not realistic targets. However, we shall consider the fact that we do have advantage at this point. That is, this club can actually guarantee them 1st team football in the Premier League.

After the inevitable sale of Fellaini, we must indicate to our players, this club will always looking to improve our squad instead of weakening it. The new signings will show what this club is all about. If we fail to get some really good players (with high calibre) in, this is an alarming message to our players. They may think are we actually moving forward?

If I am the manager, I won't sell Fellaini to Arsenal because Wenger is a tight ass. So what can we do with the £24m? I will probably sign Honda on a small fee around £4m since he has 6 months left in his contract. We break the transfer record on Strootman for £17m just to please everyone. The remaining fee will add to the £3m we get from the sale of Heitinga and the money left in January to sign Bony.

In sum, Fer and Benega will now be the backup pair. Our 3 marquee signings are Honda (not the fee; his reputation), Strootman and Bony. I do think this is deliverable. Alcaraz and a 2nd choice keeper will also arrive on a free. In case there is no such thing with regard to the new TV money (say we have no money left after the aforesaid 5 signings), we can sign someone like Moses on loan with view of perm move to boost the squad a bit.

The transformation:

Mucha --- 2nd choice keeper
Heitinga --- Alcaraz
Hitzlsperger --- Honda
Neville --- Strootman
Fellaini --- Bony

The main downside is our squad numbers remain the same.

They didn't clear all of the RS debt, just a fair bit of it.That was very different because to all intents and purposes the RS were in Administration, however much they try to deny it. It was the bank that sold the RS, that is all. It wasn't fan power, or anything else. They were possibly going under, so the bank stepped in.
