He might not even win against Villa, going by this teams recent form vs theirs, and if he doesn't that's fine as I've no doubt he'll pick us up enough points from the next handful of fixtures to have us safe again. If he gets until the Debry it means he's doing a great job and theres every chance then of a win there. Have to say that too much pressure is being put on the Villa game though, it's important cuz of how Rafael left us and I'm sure he can get a result but there's other winnable games coming up if he can't. No need for panic stations just yet if he doesn't get all 3 points. He'll have only had the team for less than a week in training come Sat.

Maybe for that reason, appointing Rooney would make a lot of sence. Moshiri will be getting a world famous name in as manager and he would get a chance from most sections of the Everton support.

Regardless of credentials...that's the type of boss we need. Not some feller thinking of when the golf course is open, or someone who micro-manages every yard. Someone who cares.

Dunc is the tonic we need at the moment.

A team that's back to basics, works hard, and has some youth trusted. That's the formula that will get us out of this mess.

If the next few games are anyway like his last stint he should be given until the end of the season, at least.

To be fair to @davek he did call Baines a ‘future manager’ some time ago.

What makes you say this? Baines doesn't even have his badges. Duncs got the highest available and has worked his way up from the youth teams to assistant manager under great managers like Ancelloti. He would have learned even under the lesser managers. What's Baines done except play for us recently?
