But this is why Rooney is a better option, Duncan has only ever watched people be a manager, Rooney has actually done it, Duncan hasnt even tried to get a job doing it, why would we want a manager who has made zero effort to experience the job

Arteta never managed.

Nagelsman got the Hoffenheim job at 28 to get them out of relegation.

Things can happen...

Some on here complain that the club should be succession planning. Maybe Duncan has been assured he will be considered for the role at some point and that is why he has stayed?

Doesn’t wash with me mate. Good staff and players can be part of poor regimes.

He has not had the manager responsibilities, but read what the players say about him if you want to know what he offers.
Don’t give a crap what players who fail to turn up week in and week out say about him. He part of the reason the 6 managers have failed.. That’s a fact.

Doesn't sound too much like he's even going for the full-time slot. I liked how he said he sets the team up around the best players.

So no, Benitez, not sticking Coleman at left-wing back you clown.
Sounds like he's been overlooked again or knows who the candidate is and feels he wouldnt do as good a job as them. He said similar when it was Ancelloti. Paraphrasing but when asked would he take the job full time his response was along the lines of, "Everton deserve the best managers they can get"

As much as I agree with what you’re saying Dave I think if we were to go and get Dan Ashworth I think that would turn out to be a real coup. However he would have to be in control not the dicks above him.

The deadwood that will be out this club in the summer will allow us to hopefully start to rebuild with players with the right attitude and buy into the ethos of the club.

Someone said last night if we bought him in along with say a Rooney or lampard then it could actually reap a lot more than the last 6 years what’s your thoughts on that?
There'll be no reckoning with the culture of the dressing room and coaching staff.

The club will drift for years to come.

Our best bet now - now that a manager sorting it has come and gone - is to get new owners with oil sheik funds who will buy the club on the back of the stadium build and simply come in and replace a whole team plus coaching staff in very short order and demand silverware...and if it's not delivered they'll simply rinse and repeat the cycle until a professional squad and coaching staff are arrived at.

At the very least you can write the next half decade off - it'll be dominated by that shower of amateurs in place now.

He needs to show more than 'players run themselves into the ground'
He needs to show his method and tactical awareness
Make effective decisions during a game
And no more sub a sub lol

Most of them are out of contract other then that we need to dispose of the fake striker, Keane needs a new profession full stop and hopefully clearing lots of wages off the books will help the rebuild begin.

Thoughts on Cannavaro mate?

Same old same old.

The Moshiri 5 step managerial master plan.

Step 1: Hire a new manager
Step 2: keep Ferguson around
Step 3: Sack manager
Step 4: Give it to Ferguson as caretaker
Step 5: See Step 1 and repeat.

Its the definition of madness from the Iranian Arthur Daley

I'm non-plussed by him as a manager. I think it's his agent talking through newspapers.

But it's important to stress that we're at the start of this process...it's 5 days since Benitez was sacked.
