Good levels of commitment there from the players. Technically we came up a bit short of ideas.

Bit like his first tenure really. The Leicester cup game and arsenal at home were pretty similar.

An improvement, but not enough.
Are players just arent technical though its a hard job isnt it

Difference between this and the Chelsea game that Ferguson managed is that Chelsea had no stomach for the fight, and Villa did. Once they were prepared to battle as hard as us we were in trouble.

Don’t think any amount of passion or desire can compensate playing Gomes in a two man midfield. He’s making some of the same mistakes Rafael was

Glimmers of hope in that game, genuinely felt a bit hard done by the result. Maybe we do but I don't think we should rush a decision like that. Dunc hopefully with at least a few more training sessions could hopefully provide a boost for us.
There was a boost. Im perplexed by the reaction. Villa are better than us, and form wise we were on the level and likely deserved a point. Thats not the same thing as being on Watford's level. Again our odds of going down went from 11% to 13%.

We are a bottom half side, loosing to teams above us marginally is par the course regardless of the club state of things. And the chance the board can make a good appointee with no hierarchy or DoF is far more risky than the chances of us playing in the championship next season.

For me saying that he’s waiting for a new man, shows he wants to move back into the shadows and pick up a wage for putting cones out. Whoever comes in brings his own staff and bin off what we have.
