FIFA 15

Any computer game I play has to have 1 basic requirement, that being the possibility that an online player has a full on meltdown and screams and shouts abuse at me, preferably in some crazy foreign language. GTA is great for it, I tend to find the FIFA fumers just send a nasty message after the game has finished, at which point I usually declare my love for them.

FIFA fumers are my absolute fave.

These are the worst football games in a while. FIFA has a monopoly now and the lack of competition is damaging. EA only respond to money, and FIFA continues to break sales records so they won't fix anything.

The gameplay is just poor. It rewards only crap tactics like pace abusing, that stupid kick off exploit, cross abusing. Possession football, passing, looking for holes in their defence -- patient football in general is punished by a David Luiz interception and a lofted through ball to Ibarbo. Keepers are all inhabited by the ghost of Richard Wright as they act like useless planks whenever given the opportunity.

On top of that, there's the ridiculous physicality, where someone can pull your shirt for half of the length of the pitch or when you're clean through on goal and not get punished, but then you can pull a shirt once and get an instant red card. Why shirt pulling was added I'll never know -- erm, it's not actually legal you know, EA? Plus the momentum/scripting etc, which is real and is just perplexing. Even the referees are gash -- the other day the last man slide tackled me from behind, well inside the box, only for me to get a free kick and him to get away without a card. I don't even know where to begin with that.

Then you've got the EA servers; not only do I need my connection to Live/PSN, but then I've got to stay connected to their hilariously unstable servers that go down randomly, boot you out of games you're winning only to give you a lovely 3-0 defeat and a message telling you not to quit in future.

Ultimately though, I love football and I love games, so I'll buy FIFA 15. And 16. And 17. I hate the game so much and it infuriates me, as it's such a backwards step from FIFA 3-5 years ago. But what can I do? Play PES? LOL.

I don't really do much online multiplayer gaming. quite happy playing on my own. I do remember getting a mouthfull off some American dude when on CoD at my mates house once because I kept getting shot far too easily. haha people take gaming far too seriously. Give him a real SA80 or gun of choice and he'd probably piss his knickers.

It's always the Americans mate, they lose it all the time, so it's best to target them again and again.

As for FIFA, I'm fairly crap at 14 so far, It feels so much slower.

FIFA 14 is the best ever for me.

All opinions though hey mate?! Except for the PES option. That's fact!

You can sense from their behaviour when a rage quit is coming, usually starts with trying to do loads of tricks when they're losing, then realises that dont work so pisses about with their keeper, then you score again when they cock up a back pass and BOOOM there they go.

To be fair I'm basing this mostly on UT, which to my knowledge isn't your thing.

UT has boosted stats and generally quicker, more lively gameplay. The normal modes aren't as bad but still not a patch on the games a few years ago.

I love the foreign ones the most, who try and swear in English but get it slightly wrong.

But I admire them for trying in a way.

Spot on. Not much of an Ultimate Team person, although half enjoying building a team from scratch on the World Cup bit. But that won't last!

I loathe rage quitters. I genuinely have never quit, which admittedly has led to the odd 8 or 9 nil bumming, but a few times I've come back from 4 or 5 goals down which is just the acest feeling. Especially when it's some bulb who watches every replay, celebrates like a whopper, does skills in his own half, passes side to side with his keeper etc. Nothing better than rubbing their noses in that.

That's why I like it really; I loathe the AI and only play online so that leaves seasons etc which is pretty good, and UT. I much prefer making your own team than playing with real ones though.

Always was a PES man till Fifa 13 as I found out about ProClubs and then UT which I smashed and then eventually finishing with seasons.

Then along comes 14 which is suppose to be an upgrade on 13 and it seems the developers only believe that goals in football can only be scored by crossing and heading.

I only play ProClubs now as its all too one dimensional on how to score e.g cross and head, the gameplay on PES has always been better its just everyone flocks to Fifa for the naming rights which is wrong should be more competition.

Although Goodison Park on 14 is the greatest thing ever in football gaming history.
