Transfer Rumour Fikayo Tomori

We've got Richarlison, DCL and Kean. Who are we getting that isn't going to want to take minutes away from them and also be worthwhile? Just let Tosun do it and hope we never need him.

DCL has had 3 good months of scoring goals in 3 years at the club.

Kean is also unproven and may or may not progress.

So essentially we have 1 proven goalscorer at the club yet some fans go on like we have Barca's forward options.

Tomori was joining on loan last year until they sold Sideshow Bob to Arsenal and Lampard blocked it. Brands spoke with Granovskaia on Tuesday. An outline deal is in place verbally but details on payment schedule linked to appearances still needs to be agreed. We are due to submit a proposal by close of business Friday for Chelsea to consider. It is believed we want an option to buy and Chelsea do not. We conceded on Zouma but then could not sign him so this might be a red line for Brands. Others are interested but the player knows Brands' long-term interest in him and is keen on the Ancelotti factor. I think this might take a week or two yet but fingers crossed.

It's almost like you didn't even mention our best player from last season to make your point viable.

I did - we have 1 proven goalscorer.

The other 2 are "potential" and that is it at this stage.

Ancelotti has shown with his transfer dealings that he's fed up of the Fifa stat boys and their endless list of 20 year old potential superstars and has gotten in rough n ready players in their prime to do a mans job.

Dont be shocked to see an established CF come in...

Still think we are short up front...
DCL gets injured, Kean still unproven & Tosun has been injured for several weeks & did not impress on earlier displays...
Richarlison can play there but then we lose width.

Be a shame after signing a new midfield if we didn't complete the job & get a back up striker....

Giroud would be a good signing...

Of course you count Wilson as an established CF so there isn't much point to this conversation

Giroud isn't coming to be third string and we shouldn't be signing someone to the detriment of Kean and DCL.

I should add that whilst I am personal friends with several footie journos, 2 ex-Everton marketing/PR heads and 2 football agents through friendships built up the old-fashioned way (attending games and talking to people) & thus get the odd bit of info it is not direct from the club and I do not claim it is. I am not ITK in any meaningful sense. However, my Chelsea in is one of Roman's team in London because our kids were at the same schools in North London for years. I'll only know what & when Roman tells them because football is Marina Granovskaia's exclusive personal domain and she reports direct to Abramovich but if I hear I will share.

If DCL is not a proven goalscorer (and he isn't yet) then neither is Richarlison.

The important thing with DCL and Richarlison is they are improving year on year.

The above suggests you are indeed ITK and amounts in my view to an open declaration of the same.

It's a long hard season knocks, injuries, suspensions & resting players all come into the equation...

Rotating players will also be key to any success we may have...

Your strategy however seems fraught with risk & no planned effective back up, I would prefer a back up striker & have the confidence of good strong reliable squad with depth if things go wrong...

Be a boss signing this but at the same time a purchase option is a must. Be arsed developing other clubs players only for them to go and sell the player for a big profit to somebody else.
I look at it like this though, if Chelsea end up selling him for big profit next season, then he must have had a decent season for us? Which can only be a good thing.
