If DCL is not a proven goalscorer (and he isn't yet) then neither is Richarlison.

The important thing with DCL and Richarlison is they are improving year on year.

Richarlison has scored around 15 goals in 2 seasons and bags for Brazil.

DCL has scored 13 goals in 1 season in which most of those goals came in a few games in which he went 10 games without a goal following.

If DCL scores near 15 again this season fair enough he is proven he has become a goal scorer until then though he is in the same bracket as the likes of Ings and Wilson who some on here cant wait to tell me that they have only done it in 1 season and need to replicate that form to show it wasn't just a purple patch.

I just dont think Ancelotti will take the risk but we'll see.

I'm don't disagree but Richarlison isn't all about goals anyway.

I saw we were linked with Llorente lately, a move like that wouldn't surprise me, someone with loads of experience who can offer something filling in and wont be expecting to play every week.

It's a long hard season knocks,injuries,suspensions & resting players all come into the equation...

Rotating players will also be key to any success we may have...

Your strategy however seems fraught with risk & no planned effective back up, I would prefer a back up striker & have the confidence of good strong reliable squad with depth if things go wrong...

We aren't in Europe. We can play a maximum of 50 games (I think?) if we get to the finals of both Cups, but realistically we will be playing mid 40s. Honestly we can probably get by with a squad of about 18 if we had to.

Now I'm not saying we should do that, but as we can play a one striker system relatively easily we really don't need more than 3 players in the position and as we have DCL, Richarlison and Kean all more than capable already the only thing we are going to do with another signing is take them off the field. So we need either a high quality signing, which I can't see, or to just leave it, imo.

And my plan has a back up. You have Richarlison and DCL, Kean backing up, and in a disaster scenario when everyone is hurt you have Tosun who while not good is at least a PL level player, even if it is bottom half. How much backup do you want?

It isn't even that they're all good, just that it throws the balance in the squad off and makes it hard to get everyone the minutes they'll want if you have so many.
