Transfer Rumour Fikayo Tomori

That's what I find odd, Championship teams star player but struggles to get game time at prem level from a manager who managed him in his best season so far. Has he kicked on, has he stagnated, as much as I like KZ he's not Baresi and should have been oust able. I will trust others judgement but It is leaving me wondering why, at 22 he should be banging right on the first team door not slipping down the order.
He's slipping down the order because their expectations have risen massively this season. They will be expecting to challenge for the title and the CL this year, and probably don't think he's at a level which will allow them to do that. That obviously doesn't mean he's not good enough for a team hoping to improve on 12th and maybe at a push even winning a trophy for the first time in his lifetime.

Yup.

Looking at his stats last season.

He was dropped around December most likely due to the return of Rudiger rather then form.

Of the 15 league games he won 9, drew 1 and lost 4 to City, Sh1te, West Ham and Southampton.

At Derby, we was excellent playing 55 times and narrowly missing out on promotion so he is very much in the same bracket as Holgate so I would imagine he will be pushing to get more starts.

I think we could be used for right back cover but it's more likely he will be used as a centre back.

Maybe learning off Thiago Silva for a season would appeal. I haven't got a particular opinion, I'm taking in what people who have watched him are saying. If people think he can improve us fair enough but again I'm not keen on training chelseas players to give them back.

Am I right in thinking that Tomori was with Frank Lampard at derby when they just missed promotion? If so, he then fell down the pecking order in the better premier league. Lampard had him a full season as a starter but dropped him in the Prem, just worth asking why isn't it, is he not upto it, who knows?

He started in the PL, played as a starter till New Year then just vanished. Chelsea fans at the time were bemused though. Think it coincided with Rudiger getting fit again.

There was an article in the athletic a couple of months back about why he was dropped. I'm not sure on the etiquette for linking them on here but basically the feeling was that he'd been dropped because he was quite weak in the air in comparison to the other options, had made a few mistakes on the ball (possibly due to tiredness at having played so many games at a higher level) and because Reece James had become the first choice right back and they didn't want 2 kids in the back 4. It was very positive about him though.

I hope we get an option to buy in case he comes good, we don’t want another Zouma situation and having to restart a partnership again next season

Chelsea won't rush themselves so we need to get a decision asap and move on. If they string us along until the deadline then we'll end up in same scenario as last year.
Yep, hopeful the Experience last season of them messing around, then us hanging on forever even after the decision was made, wont have us doing same thing again. if we have any Sense
