Transfer Rumour Fikayo Tomori

Chelsea have a history of deliberately trying to harm other clubs season starts so if they are mucking about then just tell them to k'off and look elsewhere imo. Plenty other fish in the sea.

id say our most successful loan was from them wasn’t it and we’ve also loaned a centre half before so it’s indicate an established relationship.

It's been two days since links even came out, mate. What's the rush?

He's not playing for us on Sunday regardless.

He was a target last year and the club clearly feel he's the best option right now.

We probably don't have the money to go out and buy a CB who has Prem experience and, importantly, pace.

He's not left footed but does play left side of defence - an important trait for what we need.

He's available on loan and we're working on a deal.

EDIT: I've seen the recent news but honestly I don't think it changes much. We'll move on if Chelsea play silly buggars I'm sure. But I can also see us having him in by the end of next week.

If we move on to other targets, it could be on to Tomori to push for a loan move and Chelsea could relent.

....be a shame if this doesn’t happen after reports suggested it was a done deal.

Hmm. Tbf Eggs, the Athletic article (which broke the news) by Simon J and Paddy B, did stress there was still work to be done.

Chelsea may simply be wanting more of a loan fee up front for example to get this deal done quickly.

I'm confident the club have learned their lessons from last year.

I was confident this was happening but then I read we can't guarantee him minutes so reckon he's more likely to go a Fulham who actually need a starting CB.

He will just be cover for us, like at Chelsea but more chance of getting games with us.

Can see Fulham being more ideal for the player and Chelsea as he will get more games.

Oh I think he would and even when Holgate is fit I'd pair them together. Just from the media it sounds like we can't guarantee play time which makes a loan pointless for Chelsea.

Well, their loan of Zouma wasn't really pointless, and he initially came in as '3rd choice', tbf

We'll see how it goes. Would be a shame if we can't get him as I think he'd be cracking for us - suits the style Ancelotti wants to play in a high line.

It's probably a case of persuading the player more than Chelsea right now. If Tomori pushes for Everton, I think we'll get him.

That being said, Chelsea may well be looking to move on Christensen, which would leave Tomori in with more of a chance of playing there.

Think this one is boxed off

The noises coming out today are I reckon are to make it look like Chelsea weighed up what was best for him

That's just hindsight; Zouma came in after an injury. He could also quite well of warmed the bench if the injury didn't happen.

Can't help but feel like Chelsea are being deliberately awkward. I reckon chelsea dicked us about with zouma last season which resulted in us not signing a cb, and they're now doing it again.

....to be fair they were in transition from Lampard who wanted to assess his squad before committing to Zouma leaving. Zouma impressed so he decided to keep him. I think Brands switched his sights to Tomori and a loan was agreed only David Luiz submitted a transfer on transfer deadline day.
