Did you go when we played them? I did & it was the worst ground I've ever been to in my life. We were stuck in some crappy little part of the ground where we could barely see a thing & those of us lucky enough to walk in without any problems walked past loads of kitted out police seemingly waiting for an excuse to come & crack our skulls. The redshite did things more professionally than we did, they went over there a few weeks earlier, saw how bad the facilities were & asked them to make changes & their fans presumably got a much better day out because of it.

Let's not **** about, they have far more experience of European games than we have but if we'd done what they did, maybe they'd have taken the fences down like they did for last nights game, maybe they wouldn't have had a load of police standing inside the ground looking so threatening & maybe they'd have treated our fans better both inside & outside the ground.

There was loads of mistakes made when we went over there, they've realised that & put some of them right for last night's game. Should they realise their mistakes but keep making them because they made our fans suffer? As much as I like the idea of kopites going through the same [Poor language removed] as most of our fans, it'd be wrong to not change things when they realise their errors.

Well said.

i'm not saying that they should've treated your fans like they did ours, but we were put forward as being the worst on the planet and despite protestations from the club they would not alter their stance.
many said they had the "what do you expect, you are from Liverpool" whilst there, so what has changed their attitude to the people from the city. it just grates that we were treated so shabbily and then have to see you guys get the vip treatment.
i'm sure you would all feel the same if Man utd were welcomed with open arms and you guys told that you aren't welcome.

I agree with you mate and I'm at a loss as to why they treated our fans considerably better than the travelling Evertonians.

I think it had something to do with a new police chief in Florence whos aim is to work with the supporters to avoid trouble etc. Still...

Did Rangers fans recieve the same treatment as Everton supporters did when they went?

nah, Rangers got the big welcome with a fan park and everything,
YouTube - Rangers fans clash with Police and Fiorentina fans in Florence!!
Aye right! What a fantastic day! The most welcoming fans, police and locals we met on our marathon Euro tour on the road to Manchester!

this one is even in the home end

i realise that at the time Italian football was still rocking in the wake of the shot copper and other incidents, but that was their problem, not one to be taken out on us.
UEFA must have reports on travelling fans for use by clubs when assessing how to receive visiting fans, as well as that the police over here probably do more than in any other country in terms of collecting info etc, as i remember merseyside police went over and tbh i cant remember anything significant that would cause the over-reaction that happened.

So if I get this right....

They either bucked their ideas up AFTER our game....

Or they're perfectly friendly and open to every other club mainly from the Champions League who dont have affliations with rival clubs they dont like.....and horrible to everyone else.

Which one or have I missed the point?

probably the after our game one by the looks of things.

Hello guys, one answer for all of your questions maybe this: fiorentina and liverpool supporters groups are twinned (I don't know if it's the right word) and anyway, the things about the stadium's laws here in florence changed when a new police chief came. A greeting to all.

they hate Juve and Roma apparently, so given the r/shoites history with Juve, their friendliness towards them is basically an endorsement of Heysel.
Yet we were held accountable for their actions at the time and also when we played Fiorentina, a case of 'we love the shoite so we have to hate you and treat you as if it were you that murdered fans in Brussels.'

tbh i dont know how we could expect anything any different from such a tin-pot regime that adopts the fsw's rotation system in it's parliament and official positions.

maybe the officials were got at by r/s, i.e. postings on forums pretending to be us, on our way for trouble ?
i wouldnt be suprised by that at all.

Only for knowledge: what do you mean when you say "fsw's rotation system in it's parliament and official positions" what is "fsw?

Rafael Benitez the Liverpool manager.

They are referring to him as: Fat Spanish Waiter. (y)

When you say "Twinned" do you mean "Best Friends" for example?

a rare correct post there from j.rtk.

yes we call him The Fat Spanish Waiter or FSW for short, he takes it to be a compliment and a term of endearment. you guys should make a FSW banner or do a tifo thing when you play at analfield. he would really appreciate the gesture.

in fact i reckon a huge banner or card display would make one of 'those fantastic european nights at analfield', Rafael would love it and your kopite friends would really love it, it would be a nice suprise for them, to show how you are twinned. it would be like when you showered your coach with flowers after his wife died, an outpouring of emotion.

Why are Fiorentina twinned with Liverpool FC? I'm not aware of the Italian team's criminal past. Can someone enlighten me?
