Final game at goodison.

Absolutely this. Seems some people would rather toss themselves off in the concourse listening to Z Cars on repeat.

We are talking mostly about men here...

From reading other comments here the best day and time for the final game is surely the 5.30 slot on the Saturday. Even though for me personally having a wedding that weekend the Monday be better but that's me being selfish
FA Cup final is on that Saturday and because of that, no other game will be played on the same day. Best we can hope for is that it’s not too late on the Sunday, hope to god it’s not Monday night

It can't be on the saturday because of the FA Cup final! This is why there's so much discussion about it in the first place!

I honestly don't know what some people are wanting or expecting. Personally I can't think of anything worse than having a load of old players getting microphones shoved in their faces to tell an awkward story about their favourite Goodison memory to be honest, if it's going to be an 'event' then make it a proper one with stuff that you'll actually always remember not just a box ticking 'we did something' exercise. Otherwise just let the place itself do the talking and everyone can celebrate it in their own way.

You have to remember that McCartneys footballing heritage is from a time when the city was not so divided, so yes he is originally a blue but is open for either team do well.
It’s only younger generations have seen the divide between the two grow due to greed and insular football rhetoric
I definitely agree with this my Nan used to say she supported both teams when she was asked, but everyone knew she was a blue.

That answer's called being too 'kin famous for your own health...man can't win, especially on that topic. When push comes to shove, only he knows the answer. I can't imagine being him, I cherish my privacy too much. Instead of talking about his musical accomplishments, his football allegiances are being called in to question...and he has to ponder how his answer will affect how he's treated in his hometown; I mean WTF. I don't wish 95% of the fame game on anyone.
I honestly think he'd be lowering himself if he had any involvement in football. As a music fan I hope he doesn't do it as an extension of a football match as it's too tribal, and I just don't see how it works practically. He's not Jamie Webster or Ed Sheeran, he won't just stroll into the middle of the pitch with a guitar. It'll need soundchecks, staging etc.

Now as the final gig of the three that they got the license for, to properly say goodbye to the stadium and for him to play Goodison Park properly for the first time, I could see that
