Financial Fair Play investigation

It's a mixture of board ineptitude, and football clubs in general being pretty awful businesses. I mean how many of them show anything resembling consistent profits?
Football clubs don't have to show consistent profits. The idea is to increase the value of the club whilst minimising losses. We have shown an inability to do either.

if there is ever a time to get the kids playing it’s now. These guys could be the difference of us staying afloat nevermind staying in the league. Our biggest assets will be the kids once Pickford, Onana and DCL have gone. Scary.

But what I said still stands, Newcastle lost £70m, but they invested big last year we sold our best player for £60m, otherwise our losses would have been far larger than the Skunks, sorry if I come across as negative.
If they get champs league then it’s worth it to them. We spent big about 6/7 years ago and got nothing but crap players who all ran their enormous contracts down, leaving for free and massive wages. If Mina is on 120k a week, I worked out before he’s took us for around 48million is wages alone, nevermind the transfer fee.

Oh and also, 38 games a season with say around 5/6 cup games if we are lucky. Over say 6 years that works out to about 260ish games….. Mina has played in 85 of them. He is one of about 10 players, Bolasie, Tosun, Delph, etc.

No one yet but I would imagine they will need to sell someone early this summer for this years books having spent big on Gordon.
Newcastle won't have to sell because they will massively increase their revenues. They will receive more TV money for a higher finishing position plus they will either get on the CL gravy train or the Europa League.

Moshiri managed to spend ludicrous amounts of money whilst reducing our revenues. The amount we spent should have guaranteed European Football.

We've been a financial basket case for all but about 6 years in the last 25.

I mean, it's not like this club has been a model of governance.

Before Moshiri arrived the club were basically mortgaging everything to keep the wolf from the door. Tv money borrowed years before we had it, training ground sold, season ticket sales put up as collateral on loans. Going from this bank to that bank and begging them not to kill us.

Yeah but their year was partially run by Ashley (the summer transfer window) who was renowned for spending nothing so is based off the January window.

They have since spent a shed load more without any outgoings or any new sponsorship in this year yet.

Arsenal made a 107m loss in 20-21 and then on 21-22 made a 45m loss.

Doesn’t really matter where you are in the league, it’s just losses all over the place. No doubt in my mind that while we have been referred, it will either be minimal sanctions so as not to set a precedent, or it’s going to start a domino effect because so many clubs are making massive losses and deeper analysis into them will show up more issues.

Of course, it has relevance to the charge. Even with crystalized COVID losses we would have still failed P&S rules. We presented the Premier League with unaudited accounts that we assured the Premier League would pass the P&S rules when the uncrystallized COVID losses were crystallized.

The Premier League took us at our word.
Well you don't know if any of that is right do you ?

Not sure what you have been reading but the emphasis in some of the media is the transfer of a player that has tipped this.

As of yet , outside of The club it's auditors and the Premier lge nobody knows anything.

Closer to 30m in wages for Mina.

Very much doubt we get charged and points deducted this season because we could then drag it through CAS for another 6 months and that hurts start of the season. More likely we get one in November if at all
