Financial Fair Play investigation

Imagine my shock to see that narcissist is posting ideology to cause more distress to those who don't, and don't need to, know about the finances of our club.

Absolute attention seeking fraud and I'm fed up of him trying to make ground after being proven wrong endlessly and backtracking.

I guess it's ok though because he bought a mod on here a pint once and has property?!

We know our board is horrendous but causing further distress to fans and being manipulative to further your own clicks and revenue is not on.

Prove him wrong then.

Have to say it's pretty clear we will be in dire straits if we get relegated.

As if the original FFP and sustainability rules weren't anticompetitive enough.

There's no chance clubs can close the commercial revenue gap on the top clubs and come close to what they're able to spend.

Football is dead as a competition.

I do agree but at the same time, Newcastle has managed to potentially break into the top 4 straight away and could be in a position to properly build and break into the elite in the future.

Seems it's possible but you have to be very lucky with your appointments which they seem to have been (Gordon aside).

We just suck at doing anything well :(

They could, on the other hand, if they finish midtable the next two seasons they could end up in hot water like us.

They've been able to break through this year, to do it consistently will require a level of continuous investment in the squad which will likely exceed the 70% of revenue limit and will be outpaced by other teams like Liverpool and Chelsea who can spend more.

It's a rigged game.

Well we've done our bit and got £45m upfront at the same time. Everton against fat cats 🐈

I agree they have been wise with what they have spent but the fact that they are backed by a wealth fund of over a trillion pounds just backs up the point that the for the majority of the teams in the league, they aren't in a competition they can win so it isn't really competitive.

Should have encouraged them to sod off to the European Super League.

@Neiler wasnt there some kind of benefit to a club having an investor come in? Or a full takeover?

Not particularly FFP or P&S related perhaps but I remember reading somewhere that there was an amount which could benefit both through new investment.

Not sure if true, but i remembered reading it when Newcastle were bought.

So the club would create new shares mate and the investors pay for them, so there is inward investment into the club - it helps cash flow - but in our case it will be used as capital expenditure i.e. for the ground.

Else wise you’re looking at what investors bring to table, possible commercial links and synergies - like the multi club model.

Wont count toward our P&S situation.

Doing it once it's possible...leceister did it also. What's difficult is doing it consistently season after season.

Yeah i get the general investment benefits...but im sure i read something about how it also benefits FFP / P&S in terms of the regulations.

A few years ago Moshiri converted our debt into new equity.... which was partly how he got to 94% ownership. Of course that is ok provided he can afford that and/or the equivalent real value is then added to the club as a result. Similar for this if that's the route taken.

Originally, much of the stadium debt was going to be loaded onto the club as a loan, which would then be balanced by increased stadium income plus naming rights. At that point we had a backer who was prepared to spend £30m just for first dibs at sponsoring the stadium..... so most of us turned a blind eye as to whether or not that equation worked. This investment is supposed to replace that element of the financial model..... and essentially that allows the owner to walk away sooner and with less debt. Of course that only works for the club if the investors/new owners can find/provide similar sponsorship, the incomes do increase proportionally, the costs don't escalate and we are not then hamstrung by the debt..... and of course if we're not relegated.

None of these rules have ever been applied, have they?

Everton seems to be the only club to ever been put in a position where they could be applied, so far, and if they are I expect them
to apply to the other offenders.

Yes they're being applied. All clubs had to submit accounts by 01 March including projections

The only clubs alleged to have BREACHED the P&S rules to date are Man City and Everton

You're treating "application" as "enforcement"

You only need enforcement when rules are allegedly broken

You can't call clubs that haven't breached rules "offenders"

That "narcissist" as you have the cheek to call him is merely warning people what will happen

It will be an absolute car crash for the club

That will cause far more distress to people than that "narcissist" as you have the cheek to call him, shouting out a warning to people

You might not like reality. But it's still reality.

There is nothing at all positive relating to relegation

The fact you used the word "ideology" there too. Ridiculous. Stop living in a fantasy like Bill Kenwright and get in the real world

Nah you're naive. Check his history yourself.
