What we really need is a top top top level accountant to pull some rabbits from a hat.

Everton Football Club is disappointed to hear of the Premier League’s decision to refer an allegation of a breach of Profit & Sustainability regulations to an independent commission for review.

The Club strongly contests the allegation of non-compliance and together with its independent team of experts is entirely confident that it remains compliant with all financial rules and regulations.

Everton is prepared to robustly defend its position to the commission. The Club has, over several years, provided information to the Premier League in an open and transparent manner and has consciously chosen to act with the utmost good faith at all times.

The Club will not be making any further comment at this time.

Didn't we loose 300plus million and we were only allowed to lose around £100? I recall there was a COVID extension but surely not allowing an extra 200? Seems like we have massively blown it apart which is very very worrying.

We haven't actually spent much at all in recent years so I find the timing slightly bizarre. We are a woefully run club but I find the whole financial "fair play" rules an utter nonsense and they should be thrown out of football.

In no other industry is a business owner, who can cover all their liabilities, told they cannot invest more of their own money.

If they pull us, they’ll have to pull City.

I reckon if they proceed it’ll take years to prove, settle.

If we’ve sat and worked with the premier league, then j guess we’d probably have a case of misleading.

Relaxed for now, but very concerned we’ve this incompetent.

You know that isn't the case. If Whoever owns the club proves that they can cover the losses, a private business should be allowed to spend. FFP and P&S is pure fixing to allow the elite to stay the elite, nothing more

And if an unscrupulous owner suddenly decides they’re going to stop writing off the losses leave the debt on the club, then what? You think Moshiri is going to keep writing off losses out of the goodness of his heart forever? The fella is the most dangerous owner in this country.

God forbid there’s a rule in place to stop clubs losing £100m per season and going out of business.
If the desire is there with the authorities then there’s ways to do that and allow an ‘angel’ owners to splash the cash.
It isn’t because they want their favourites to stay at the top.
If someone wanted to spend £100m, then make them put the same in an EPL escrow account in case it goes belly up to cover costs.
