Financial Fair Play investigation

Being honest this whole thing stinks doesn’t it. Why are the premier league recommending what punishment we should get when it’s not them that decides? Why was there so much of a rush to conclude our case but Man City’s case of over 100 charges never gets a mention? What happened to don’t punish the fans? Or is that just if you’re a slimy 6 fan? I also notice no one in the media is fighting out corner either. The PL and the media in this country have had it in for us since day 1 when this came out. I’m 100% certain we will get a points deduction if found guilty the tone has been set in regards to the punishment. Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve used to us to make an example of.

Just seems very odd that the whole thing has been conducted in such secrecy we still don’t know the exact nature of the charge and we didn’t even know it had started until it did, and yet suddenly there are leaks of what the PL’s preferred punishment supposedly is.

The PL are not prosecuting. This is not a criminal proceedings.

They are not even Plaintiffs in a civil case. They are a body that has asked an independent commission to examine some allegations agcinst one of its members.

it is whoĺly in appropriate to make such recommendations before the Commission has even made its determination.

BTW in a criminal trial, the prosecution cannot make any recommendations regarding punishment before a verdict has been given.

That is how the legal system works.

Exactly my thoughts.

Flip side of the argument

The league won’t want sides to over spend and avoid relegation as a result of this meaning that other clubs are relegated into the championship.

Because that’s how sides like Leeds will view it.

And the flip side to that is club's overspending to win titles and promoting the league while breaching rules. How do the league and other clubs see that?

You can't have over spending effects relegation and not have the same to winning the league.

Man City will be a huge reason why the premier league jumped another tier in being the most lucrative league in the world. They have done far worse than what we have been accused of.

Deduction on points for us should lead to a bigger penalty for them. And the knock on effects of that is far worse than what happens to us.

How does Citys breaking the rules compare to ours.

…you have to think it’s ‘one rule for Everton and another rule for the rest’.

i Really don’t think Sky and the major global TV companies want a city where the Reds dominance is threatened. They make so much money across the world from Reds tourists that they can’t afford people switching off.

They‘ll be wary of the new ground, they want us out the way.

Hopefully our army of lawyers can make something of this

Will make a mockery of the “you can’t punish the fans” argument that stopped those six clubs copping a proper punishment for trying to destroy English football

I know there wont be but there should be some some sort of totting up process as well when they consider City. Alongside the 114 charges connected to alleged breaches said to have occurred over more years than Everton they were also part of the scab six trying to move away from the PL. A loser club for generations then all of a sudden treble winners. If anyone deserves a raw bumming it’s them.
