Bringing the game in to disrepute:
The disrepute rule being quoted is the catch all rule and is an FA rule and not PL rule although PL clubs by affiliation are bound by FA rules.
Had any charge been incoming from the FA it would have fallen into the general behaviour category Here the Fa Rules say:
Rule E3.1 states: “A Participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour.”
My point remains it’s as obvious, as clear cut as you suggest then I truly believe that charges would have followed but this rule by and large revolves around breeches of another rules such as betting .
You would think that the actions were improper so again if it’s that obvious why weren’t the clubs charged?
