Factor in momentum lost + morale blow + likely injuries to DCL and we would be teetering on the edge...at best.
I did factor in those things by assuming our form would revert to last season. Or do you think we’ll do even worse?

Even if that happens the bottom 3 still need to get better.

This Piece @davek ?

"Asked if he believes Everton will be safe even if docked 12 points, McNulty told BBC Sport‘s live blog [13 November, 11:13]: “First things first – Everton deny these charges and have defended their case robustly.

“I will make a bold claim here and one that probably condemns Everton to almost certain doom. Everton will still stay up even if they have 12 points taken off them. There. I’ve said it.”

Don’t tempt fate"

I prefer the Davek of last year who spread positivity about our relegation battle than this doom-monger Nostradamus character you've begun to reprise.
I'm not doom mongering on the points deduction. I don't believe it will happen. But the clues are there that some people now the decision by now.

Its hard to tell what the full effect of a harsh judgment would be.

...that'll do wonders for the lad's homesickness....assuming the wheel was from his hometown in Burnley. I've heard Burnley gorgonzola is quite sought after in Italy.
A lad I know (a fellow Finn) went to Warsaw and ordered a selection, or a platter of "international cheeses" with crackers in a wine bar. Two out of six were Finnish blue cheeses & the crackers were from our hometown.

And yet you assume it would be negative?

And that at the same time clubs below us would dramatically improve their form.

If we got 23 points out of the last 26 games, which is what we did last season and included 15 losses, Luton would need to get more than 19 points to finish above us. They’ve got 6 points from 12 games this season.

I’d expect a harsh point deduction would potentially have a positive impact on our performances. The players have a point to prove at that point. The fans have a point to prove.

Our momentum wouldn’t be lost, if anything it would improve more.

It becomes us against them.

The disconnect between the club/players and fans over the last few years would disappear pretty much instantly.

It's like a hung jury. The prosecution begin sweating when the 12 just men/women and true start taking time reaching their decision when, despite all the 'smoking gun' evidence presented, they struggle to reach a unanimous verdict.
