Financial Fair Play investigation

Possible outcomes

Points deduction: no chance IMO. The PL wont want their matches devalued. That's a non-starter.

Transfer embargo: unlikely, but we can sign free transfers and do loan deals. Dyche could could still work well enough with that.

Probable outcomes

Fine

Charges dismissed

We can’t.

Note it says the charge relates to the period ending with the 21/22 season. It’s not that one season/accounts that are the problem, it will be the 3 year period (average losses) that ended with that season. That 3 year period included loads of significant financial events. Covid, weird Finch Farm sponsorships, stadium naming rights etc etc.

But would have thought that if we were being transparent and running all proposed expenditures past the PL, it was to ensure the 3 year average was compliant? Very odd. There is no way the PL is disputing the audit opinion of the external auditors on the Covid affected accounts. They don’t win that war.

Quite likely the Covid rules were so poorly written and we exploited them to the max, but did not break them. But those we have offended by doing this are now attacking from a different angle.

Still a load of nonsense from a sporting perspective.

What an absolute shambles of a club, even if dyche works a miracle he’s gonna have no chance next year. Another nail in the clubs coffin. I wonder how our wonderful billionaire owner managed to get all his money, coz it sure as hell wasn’t by being a competent accountant. What a great front he is.

And if an unscrupulous owner suddenly decides they’re going to stop writing off the losses leave the debt on the club, then what? You think Moshiri is going to keep writing off losses out of the goodness of his heart forever? The fella is the most dangerous owner in this country.
The will be a mechanism to allow a rich owner to spend loads regardless of the clubs revenue IF THE AUTHORITIES WANTED BUT THEY DONT!
no right minded fan want to see another Bury or Leeds etc, but the current system is unfair and favours an elite group of clubs while shackling the likes of Everton and even Man City ffs
It’s rotten.

These are of course possible outcomes, but you are living in LaLa land if you don’t think there’s a real possibility of a pints dedication (or some other sporting sanction).

they will ask if there has been a sporting advatage gained, if there has been, there’s a real real chance of a sporting punishment as a result.

FFP is and always has been a farce to maintain the status quo. It needs binning yesterday.

As per Transfermarkt, over the last 5 years, we've a net loss of -£141m, more or less. Arsenal have -£549m, Chelsea -£740m, and United -£611m. Other sites show differing figures but the point remains they've all posted losses much, much greater than ours.

That -£141m includes the last 2 years where we've been in profit too by the way, any sane person would be asking why on earth would they seek to punish us now? Just about staved off relegation last year and in the mix yet again. Hard to view it is as anything other than nefarious.
