I can see Arteta going on for Hibbert at half-time. Pip goes to RB and Mikel goes out to the right. Leaves Cars in the middle with Osman and Cahill and Pie-man on the left.

My take is, put Arteta on and it relieves some of the burden on Pienaar. Allows Pieman more freedom and allows us to interchange the players and mix it up.

Bored...Well the problems tonight...

Theres been no passing play in the midfield, pienaar isnt up to his usual form, and has made some careless passes, as many of our players have said to him. Its our right that is most vunerable, possibly because Hibberts there, but also their left back is great. The best players so far are jagielka, yobo, lescott and id say cahill too.
I think the referee is being quite picky and it is quite annoying...

Id want gravesen or arteta on at half time, for hibbert, maybe even carsley which ever player can get the ball on the ground and pass it.

The score line isnt bad, but i can see it goign very bad next half. Fiorentina had the best and only chance of the match which howard luckily saved.

Hopefully Arteta is healthy enough to come on in the 2nd half. Our midfield cant string 2 passes together. The wind is playing havoc on both teams any shot from 10+yards is just going to get carried by the wind into the stands.

If there is a goal in this it will be from a misjudged cross that gets carried by the wind or a slip from a defender.

I'm glad we made it to half time at 0-0 - thought we'd be a goal down tbh they way they were playing.

Neville is playing as an extra centre back at the moment though, and I wouldn't want him to move to RB for AJ up front. Osman for AJ?

On the positive side we have a clean sheet, away from home in really appalling weather

Our attack shows signs of promise when we keep the goal but we keep giving it away. Pienaar seems to have 2 people on him at all times.

Heres to some better attacking play in the next half- where has our good play gone!

And that's why I'm not overly concerned. For all of the possession they've had and as poorly we've played, they created one good chance. If we can just up our game a bit, you're right, it could be a bad second half.
