Fireworks, and dogs

Anybody else hate this week, either because fireworks alone are annoying, or because they have a dog who spends the week stressed out, or because they live next to said dog who doesn't cease in its yapping?

….they should be restricted to displays. Saying that, when I was a kid in the 60s we were reckless with fireworks and bonfires, presume animals suffered back then but don’t remember it being an issue.

The older of my 2 dogs (been happening for 7 years now) shakes uncontrollably and is inconsolable, we’ve tried everything to help him but for the last 4 years we pay the vet £60 a time to dope him up (2 days max) but the issue is selfish bellends letting them off past midnight starting from November 1st until next weekend.
It’s not just animals, there are more than a few ex army/navy/raf who suffer from ptsd that nobody thinks about either.

Wish it was just a week. Seems to be Bonfire month now.

Thing is, you can get noiseless fireworks.

4th of July here is a nightmare for most dogs. You'll find escapee's everywhere the next morning from people who didn't bring their pets in....mentioned on local news every year but people don't understand.

It sounds like a warzone for an entire week around here. I have a kid who could not sleep through them (or thunderstorms) when he was younger. Loads of fun.

Sick of it. Stupid firework nonces.

Wouldn't mind one day of the year, fair enough, but it's been all week, last 3 nights almost until midnight. Grow up.

My poor old doggy has been quite upset at them.

It's on off all year round down here as we have all the Religious festivals and weddings

So instead of it being isolated to 1 week your dog is traumatised year round.
