I worked with a guy in Bangkok once in a large international cultural institution and he was bang into the ladyboys. He even married one and was the feature of a sky tv documentary on it. He had an 18 year old son from a previous straight marriage who thought his Dad was just gay. The guy I knew anyway was of the opinion that as (to him anyway) ladyboys are the most beautiful and perfect women then if you didn't fancy them then that makes you gay.

So if I slept with a transgender woman (or say a Thai lady boy) would that make me bisexual on the grounds of them either having male parts and/or previously being a bloke despite the attraction being down to them looking "female"?

A question that has at times kept me awake at night.

I remember many years ago there was a TV (television) programme about a fella who owned a transvestite/ladyboy bar in Koh Samui, Thailand. He was in a relationship with one of the lads who worked at the bar but refused to admit to being gay/bi when being asked about his sexuality by the programme team. I remember him saying that "one of us might be gay but its not me." It was almost as if he thought that he was straight because the lad wore a dress and makeup. What a wacky, fun family we humans are.
