First thing I'd do is never, ever pick Conor Gallagher.
Honestly believe that Kalvin Phillips’ transfer to Citeh could be the worst thing that has happened to England this cycle. He gives so many more options, he could play with Rice, Mainoo, even Bellingham pushed further back.

But there was nothing important in what you said. You openly don't think Rodri is a good player so why would I ever talk to you about how good he played tonight vs his replacement? Both are exceptional defensive midfielders.
Ok fine.

The thing that people will have to accept about today, not that they will, is that Spain played one half with Rodri and it was very bland and without threat and then they played another half without him that was much improved and won them the trophy.

And what you’ve told me is that it wasn’t even a change aside from Rodri out, replacement in.

For most players it’d be damning but he’s already won the public opinion so it won’t matter.

I never said this?

Or are you attributing Spain's final win to Zubimendi.

I’m attributing it to sorting the midfield at halftime.

I really mean this! The England plan was to have Foden sit in the areas Rodri sits in and because he’s an extremely one dimensional player it worked very well. Spain had the ball but not a threat. Zubimendi and Ruiz were a more mobile pairing and it opening space. This really was the difference!
