Article in the guardian about how England's style has changed since we beat Spain 3-2 in Seville. Back then we had the pace of Rashford and Sterling to get on the end of Kane's passes from deep.

I must be one of the very few on here who was dissapointed that Gordon didn't get more chances.

He definitely should have. That persistence with Foden left wing was baffling.

Ok I may be a bit harsh if wherever I have said he is a bad player… he is not.

But world class he is not either. World class players win things…. They win these games for the team.

To be honest, world class can only really be used for a few players out there, throughout history.

He is however a top class player, just below the world class level and even if he had won a few things would still be at that level. That is where I am coming from, the teams trophy cabinet does not affect how good an individual player is, there are just too many variables to consider.

Kane was absolutely diabolical the whole tournament, his lack of mobility really hurt the team and he was as a literal ghost for every single minute he was on the pitch for.

I have no idea why Southgate didn’t start Watkins, it was like the Champions League final all over again with Pochetino dropping Lucas Moura who had scored a hat trick to take them there in the first place to make room for a statue.

Hopefully that’s the last we see of both Southgate and Kane in an England set up. Both have had more than enough chances now to get us over the line.

England are still well positioned to do very well in 26 and 28.

Watkins looked a danger whenever he came on. Kane scoring goals for fun at Bayern all season seemed to make him an automatic starter to Southgate. It seemed clear by the end of the group games Kane wasn`t the same goal scorer he had been at club level and if he`d been dropped in place of Watkins for the round 16 game we could have seen exactly how effective he could be from the start.

It was obvious to me after the Denmark game that Kane needed to be taken out, he’d barely touched the ball in either of the first two games and we were effectively playing with 10 men.

I think Southgate missed a huge trick not heavily rotating in that Slovenia group match. Was a real chance not only to rest some players but he could have perhaps discovered then that Watkins or Toney had so much more to offer than Kane did. And as much as I don’t like him, I can’t believe how few minutes Gordon got. We were so ineffective down that side of the pitch all tournament with Trippier and Foden stinking the gaff out. Absolutely mental that we didn’t change it up in that department until Shaw was basically revived from the dead.

I don't know how this Rodri guy won player of the tournament, in Spain alone Dani Olmo, Ruiz, Williams and Yamal all looked more impressive.

You missed your chance by being cowards, Spain can be pressed, Germany pressed them basically in their own penalty area for almost entire second half in quarters.
Or maybe you are not capable, your midfield painfully lacks technique, gulf in technique between even likes of Zubimendi and Rice is astronomical, 100 million player my ass. So much overpaying in Premier League for relatively average players.
