It's a penalty no question but forget all that, It's another pathetic performance by Everton who didn't create anything of note.

This. We can’t be relying on VAR penalties to win us points.
To everyone making out it’s just us and we’re “cursed” and have some kind of agenda against us: VAR hasn’t got the reputation it has for getting everyone else’s decisions spot on.

They've got to get shut of VAR...

They won't though

Its an added tool The premier league can use to keep the top teams exactly where they need to be......... at the top.

I said 2 weeks ago that my love for this game was fading by the week, that i was losing interest as the weeks went by.

The amount of posters, even regular posters, on this forum who have said these almost exact same words and thoughts over numerous threads is unreal. I've never seen this forum agree with each other on one point before.

But VAR has no excuse .... they literally have slow motion replays from every angle and STILL make the wrong decision.

Cash in the pocket to follow a script can be the only excuse.

If it was 90 minutes and we conceeded a penalty to that based on it being handball I would be gutted.

Yes technically it was but I hate all these soft pens these days - same way as Brighton technically was a penalty but for me it shouldn't have been given as whilst Keane stands on their player it wasnt intentional.

Its the inconsistency of the refs awarding on the unintentional calls which is the problem not the tech itself imo.

I have never been arsed to properly learn the rule changes, but I thought the arm-brushing was only going to be handball in cases where a goal was subsequently scored and wouldn't result in pens being given. E.g. Jesus' winner vs Spurs gets ruled out because it glanced off someone's arm in the build-up, but an attacker won't get the same advantage if the ball brushes a defender's arm.

I wasn't really fuming when it wasn't given as it wasn't that significant a contact with the arm, as wild as the position of Alli's arm was. I thought at the time that I'd have been fuming if it had been given against us as I'd want a clear advantage to have been gained, personally.

Should I be fuming?

I get more 'involved' in my lad's saturday league games. I spend most of the time watching Everton giggling in an ironic way because we've been getting shafted for as long as I can remember. From Clive Thomas, Hansen's handball, Collina to today's run of the mill bollix.
It hasn't been a sport for years. It's fixed. Riddled with corruption and is becoming the Running Man with a ball, all about bets and forecasts, but rigged.

That's pushed me over the edge. I'm done with the sport.

There's no defending the blatant incompetency and corruption. How are we meant to invest time and energy into supporting the game when it's in this state.

Totally, completely done. [Poor language removed] off.

This.

Doesn’t matter if VAR stays or goes. The referees themselves are incompetent at very best, corrupt for financial gain most likely.

VAR is just another tool to help the top 4 clubs the decisions will go in their favor

Didnt Firmino have a perfectly onside goal chalked off yesterday?

I find the conspiracy theories a bit too much - VAR isnt the problem its the inconsistency still exists within our current officiating with or without VAR.

For me the ref on the day should make the calls and use that side screen evem if it slows the game down.
