Formations

Both are crap, one however is only 22, one isn't injured all the time, and one is on lower wages.

Try again you yankee candle.
One is less crap. And you’re ok inserting “New” for other positions and also have apparently signed Maxi Gomez yet you want to keep Tom Davies. You’re a mess you lanky Brit.

You know what the nicest part about this season is? We actually have a squad of players that forces us to question what formation we might be playing for once.

Martinez you knew it was 4-2-3-1
Silva you knew it was 4-2-3-1
Early Carlo you knew it was 4-4-2

Now? Who knows, we can play quite a few and we don't even know which is Carlo's optimal.

had a little think and my line up would be

---------------Dom----------------
Richy --------------------James
Gomes----Allan-----Doucoure
Digne---Kean---Holgate--Kenny

James does unforutnaely need a pacey engine to cover him in defensive work, Richy's pace can cover Gomes, Allan to sweep

Pickford
Kenny Mina Holgate Digne
Dacoure Allan Gomes
James Calvert-Lewin Richarlison

Lossl
Coleman Keane Gibson Nkounkou
Davies Gbamin Delph
Walcott Kean Bernard

Thats my first choice team and each players back up. Hope the strongest players stay fit as it would be pretty scary if more than any 3 of the 2nd string come in.

What does everyone reckon our formations for this season will be?

Looking at the players he's bought and rumors of buying, and the ones suitable for that position i think we'll see quite a narrow structure with a lot of emphasis on over lapping full backs providing the width

Something like this

If Rodriguez is injured then replace with Bernard or Iwobi, neither of them are best suited to being wingers so i reckon he may keep both for now to provide a bit more creativity now we have a better defensive base in Midfield. When defending both the fullbacks and midfielders push back which give us an awful lot more protection than last year and leaves Rodriguez and the forwards free to mount a counter attack once the ball is won back. One things for certain, we should concede far less goals than last year as i doubt the defense will be as over run as it was on occasions last year, and having Rodriguez between the midfield and forwards stops the massive disconnect we had where the forwards hardly saw the ball as there was no-one in control of the ball in the middle of the park to be able to find them

I think that team makes the most sense in terms of getting our best players on the pitch in their favored positions. In an attacking sense it'd be a really interesting one to watch. There'd be plenty of movement from midfield which should be a nightmare to defend against. Packing the midfield makes up for some defensive frailties too.

If we're we're chasing a game I can see us dropping Hamez in to a midfield three and going with three strikers.

Either way, this season is going to be a breath of fresh air. A world class and tactically proactive manager with a blend of very good players at his disposal. At last.

Really? Let’s say gbamin and Gomes get fit (proper fit not like last season) I don’t see siggy getting a look in
Nah not having that, Gomes or Gordon before Siggy

Yeah, not saying it'd be my choice like but Ancelotti proper rates him it seems, talks about his experience and his quality. Think Richy going out wide on the left with either James or Walcott on the right. Guess we'll have to see!
