Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

Well done TPBD, good run your on now, think that's the last 4 unbeaten isn't it with an unlucky loss away to Orient 5 games ago
It's the key for big Dunc. Keep building long runs of positive results. I'm still concerned about how he can turn it around when it's going great, but if he's a quick learner we might just be seeing something special about to happen.

What players have we got our eyes on for next season @The Penalty Box Dancer ?

Tough question, John Rooney looks a good player and Right back and central midfield has been identified as an area for strengthening. If we can keep Jim Kellermann and get him to sign with us that would be a massive coup. Got some lads knocking on the door of the first team from the u23's. We'll be assessing the squad over the coming few months and see where we finish this season. I doubt the transfer budget will be high, unless we sell Joe Cardle for the reported 150k that's being touted about. But loans and free transfers is something we'll use to our advantage.

FYLDE COAST ON!

Dag and Red score.webp

Two goals from the spot gave Fylde a win over struggling Dagenham but the attacking intent was still visible from Fylde as they were clearly in control for the whole of the match. Danny Rowe kept his scoring form going albeit from the spot and the confidence within the squad is growing with each victory.

Nobody expected a win for Fylde away to 5th placed Gateshead and especially by 3 goals AND a clean sheet! What has Ferguson done to this team that were sitting close to the bottom last September? The football and the confidence is high and it was an incredible second half performance with Ryan Croasdale scoring twice with one coming from outside the box and a nice volley in the 6 yard box for Danny Rowe to keep his tally rising.

Next up for Fylde is 1st placed Aldershot. A tough game is expected and an upset could certainly be on the cards!

It's the hope that kills you!

Joking apart, even if the boys don't get into the play-off places, there's going to be a lot of belief for next season.

DF: The next 6 are crucial, the whole team knows it, big performances are required and a massive stroke of luck. We can only do our part and hope for slip-ups elsewhere. I've got every faith in the lads and all I can ask from them is effort. This is what we train for, play for and it's come down to the last 6. Every game is a cup final to us.

FYLDE UNDONE AT THE LAST

ALDERSHOT 1-1 AFC FYLDE

DUNCAN FERGUSON: It was an excellent performance out there today and it's 2 points dropped rather than a point gained here. I'm sure the Aldershot lads won't mind me saying we were the better team today and our lads should be proud of themselves.

It could boil down to needing to get a couple of away wins in those last 5 games. What's your run in like?

Not easy Mac. Eastleigh at home Braintree away and Barnet are the next 3. For us to get a play off place we need all the teams above us to lose at least 2 and we would need to take maximum points. It's possible but I won't be too disheartened if we don't make it. A wise summer is required to be better next season. Not easy without funds.

Aye mate I was reading the review after the away point and it said 1 away win in last 5 aways (I know there were 2/3 draws in that period) but down at the business end of the season a couple of away wins would be massive.

Would be nice to go into that last gane if the season with something still to play for and of course the higher you finish a bit more goes in the kitty.

Either way it's been a good season ;)
