Bold predication but I reckon Merc will leave F1 before they win another WDC or WCC

They smashed the 2014 regs because they had a huge advantage of having worked with hybrid technology as far back as 2007.

2022 regs they had no advantage and messed up bigly and I fully expect the same to happen with 2026 regs.

There have also been rumours going back to 2020 that they were discussing pulling out of F1 in the future. Those seem to have died down over the past year but fully expect to hear similar rumblings if this season continue to be the stinker that it is.

I’m inclined to disagree, 2026 is going to be going back ICE and I think they’ll be throwing stupid money at that right now. I don’t think they’ll win anything during this current set of regulations though, they haven’t got a clue what to do with this car.

Pretty good Q2 that

McLaren look kinda legit… typically you’d expect their race pace to be much worse and then fall down order but Norris had good race pace in Austria so fingers crossed

Wonder if Norris will go for it, or just be happy to be there and not believe their race is with Verstappen

Hakkinen obviously knew something a few weeks back

“It won't be easy for other teams to catch up. I don't believe anyone can close the gap to Red Bull this year. However, I anticipate McLaren making extraordinary strides in the next two months."

Hakkinen expressed confidence in McLaren's speed, stating, "They will astound us with their car's velocity. They might even pose a challenge to Red Bull."

Really hope they don’t fall back tomorrow

They've made the massive leap since MSP came onboard.

Inclined to agree. Given the profile they have tried to create, they will blame environmental impact and lack of R&D relevance to passenger cars, which if you ignore the pure sporting aspect is true and will continue diverge. Also feels like a long long time since motorsport success had any genuine honest impact on brand success on the road. That’s another issue for OEM branded teams which will only grow. Norris could win tomorrow and no-one rushes out to buy an Artura over a 296, even if Ferrari DNF both cars.

Dear lord Damian Lewis's 'music' is cringe. The hell was that national anthem lol.

They had his awful band playing in the paddock yesterday as well to an audience of about 5 people, just really weird.

Brundle throwing serious shade at Cara Delevigne as well !
