Bellend is being polite, loved it when his engineers slapped him down.
It's a downright lack of respect and another example of his horrible arrogance. All winners are ruthless, but he comes across as just a nasty, petulant person.

What's worse is Red Bull pander to him and allow this trait to grow and grow. I liked Senna, Schumacher, Prost and so many others... but I really dislike him.

It's a problem across motorsports. There's a famous NASCAR story where Rick Hendrick sat Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus (Johnson's crew chief) down with plates of cookies and glasses of milk, then told them, "If you're going to act like children, I'll treat you like children."

They worked it out real quick.

Schumacher, Prost, Senna were all charismatic, magnetic personality often mask character flaws (or make you forget).
I was kid during Schumi dominance and he was idolized, us kids racing always comparing ourselves with him, cop stopping the speeding car (who do you think you are, Schumacher?), there were songs about him etc........his very name was synonym for speed and part of everyday speech

Verstappen just come across as man-child, lack that something that made greats one from the past idolized or hated (but still respected)

Bet they were a bit fruity.

They did but the team bosses like managers in football used to be, were the ones who wore the trousers. Dennis made Senna cry, Williams had a history of punting all their world champions the season afterwards.

Generally people had more respect back then to authority figures that just doesn't seem to happen now.

I'm astonished that anyone watches F1 anymore.

It's just become a boring snoozefest with an incredibly arrogant gobshite winning all the time.

I stopped last season due to the bosses wanting to engineer results instead of following the rules to see a new world champion. I wonder how that is working out for them seeing Verstappen is going to have 5 in a row before any serious rule changes might be able to change the order. But even more of a problem is he'll win 85+% of the races while he is at it.

So it’s back. Can’t say it’s been missed in the summer break.

This track looks like amazing fun to fly around on your own, but come on. Modern F1 cars shouldn’t be anywhere near some sections of it.

Amazing that considering all the mad crazy Max super fans, the stands were two thirds empty for P3 this morning. Pathetic. Every seat and piece of grass verge at Silverstone (and other tracks) taken within 29 minutes of the gates opening, and that’s after you’ve joined the queue an hour before the gates open.

Awful season when there is a totally dominant team but the 2 drivers aren’t of comparable ability/form.
