If Big Dunc doesn’t get the job surely that must be him finished with the club. Can’t see how he can take another knock back from those who frequently tell him how important he is to the club. Hopefully he will get a manager’s job somewhere else and he will be ready to take over following the failure or the moving up of our next manager.
It's the only way really, The next manager regardless of who it is cannot have Duncan in the background. It has to be a clean start for all. Duncan also deserves a stint in management to prove he has what it takes to manage a side without the fluff of job for the boys crap that follows him about. Let him manage away from Goodison, earn his stripes then when he does come back the fans will know he has the credentials....or not.

Ok. So we are left with Lampard over Rooney.

Given the circumstances, and the money he had, I think Rooney has done a better job than Lampard. I also think, overall Lampard failed at Derby. So that's my rationale anyway.
I'm of the same thought. In an ideal world, I'd have taken Rooney in the summer, hopefully on the back of keeping Derby up. But I'd also have taken the gamble now, given the alternatives. He's had to cobble a team together to fight for every point, something we desperately need now. If it is Lampard, I hope he hits the ground running.

Not interested at all about his political views, that's his business, only that he does a good job for Everton, unlike the previous six managers, I'm sure all of them were staunch Labour.

Rooney apparently refused the interview:

Bet he wouldn't have said the same to United. Transparent excuse, if you ask me (even if he's correct).

He's hardly gonna go for an interview whilst currently employed
