Rooney was never a candidate as the receivers of Derby County would have wanted a fortune to end their debts .......he would have had no chance of us paying that fee hence he decided to pull out of the race from day one .....hence his statement I am staying with Derby County.......

I really can't see that being a fortune or anything like enough to end their debts. I doubt any administrator would turn down a reasonable offer if Rooney had wanted to leave.

They're about £80M in the hole last I heard so I doubt even more they'd hold out for a deal that ends their debts.

depends if they are actually paying him anything at all. if not, then they will be in no hurry to have him off the books.
