Frank Lampard

You can’t please everyone. If saying Tory is our only comeback it’s pretty pathetic la. Embarrassing. Couldn’t care less if he’s Tory, labour, green, conservative all im arsed about is this club. Grow up.
It makes no odds to me. Competence should be the deciding factor, but political affiliation for certain positions seems to be a deal-breaker for some.

I'd be really happy with Lampard. A calm head, premier league experience, good communicator and a winner with a big point to prove. Furthermore, he plays a style that will suit this squad (4-3-3) and has a track record promoting youth.

He isn't Carlo Ancelloti, but I think he is a really solid option and one that isn't just a short-term fix, but could well be the man to slowly rebuild this train wreck.

Don't want the guy at all, but (like with Pereira or anyone else) have to leave that at the door when it comes to the match.

This is why all the "No To Pereira" stuff has really annoyed me. It's fine to have an opinion, it's not fine to protest about a manager who hasn't had a single game for us. By that logic, I should be making banners about Lampard now. It's moronic.

Still, I appear to be in a minority on Lampard. If he does well, I'll happily eat some humble pie via the vaults.

Me neither, but it seems odd to make it such a key thing now but not use it against the owners who are actual donors.

Ideally we would have corbyn managing our team, but it's football, and I just want to see some decent football. Politics is a different part of my life.
Yeah as long as he's not a fascist like Di Canio I'll tolerate his questionable views for the sake of football

Neither of the two leading options fills me with anything but dread. Lampard marginally more so.

A massive change in tactical approach, which either of these two would represent, takes time to bed in. If you make a desperation change of manager deep in the season to stave off relegation then you go with a back to basics man whose ideas can be bedded in within weeks rather than months.

If we stuff up the next 5 weeks then we really are in dire straits.

I don't see the logic in making such a risky appointment now. It's not as if these two aren't going to be on the market come summer.

I think all appointments are relatively risky because the team is devoid of any confidence, There is some quality there but whoever takes over isn’t going to waive a magic wand so I’m not going hysterical. Whoever comes in needs as much backing from the fans aswell as supporting the team because this is gonna be a tough gig. Things are bad but I don’t think they are quite as bad as the Allardyce season. Maybe in points but not personnel and overall quality.

If he comes in, with what has happened over the last couple of years (the last couple of days alone being an utter joke) fair play to him. He's got some stones and belief in himself. Think everyone would be behind him given the situation, we need someone to galvanise the club. Clear as day Pereira isn't going to do that being so polarising before he's even got the job. I really hope it's Lamp's.

I get the feeling that while frank has a philosophy, he will drop all that over the next few months just to get results and keep us in the division.
Abs then start to build his team and the way he wants to play next season.

By all accounts, he wants to press high up the pitch and play a possession based game, not quite sure we have the players for that at the moment

We are in a precarious position. Lampard may well turn out to be a decent manager. Now is not the time to go all in on Lampard. Very little upside and huge consequences if it goes wrong.

If we genuinely want Lampard then give him a chance and appoint him in the summer. Give him a chance to get rid of the deadwood and give him a chance to recruit.
