Will get behind him and hope he does well. Not a very inspired appointment, though, and feels a bit strange to have ended up with him. When Benitez was fired, I don’t imagine there were many people who straight away thought “let’s go for Lampard” but due to the utter weirdness of our owner and the terrible board, we are almost relieved that Lampard has agreed to take it. Read some good things about him and some poor things about him tactically and defensively but will be happy to judge on what he does here, clean slate etc. Still think whoever came in will have done very well to keep us up. We are looking the most vulnerable at the moment so hopefully a new manager bounce will give us some breathing space.

At least be will have tactics from this decade and have the team and fanbase behind him because of his playing career mostly, unlike the last turnip and he trusts youth. Yes there are concerns over his lack of experience and defensive set ups but ultimately we are in a hole at 16th in the table, he was the best of a poor shortlist. I wish him well because he will need it this club has been a mess for years, the owner meddling and the lack of trust in key positions, the scattergun recruitment, the poor appointments at managerial level have all led us here. But the fact they seem to be putting a structure in place with Cahill and hopefully a new DOF gives me a glimmer, but there's no silver bullet this will be a long up and down rebuild can he get the results to afford him the time to do it? Tough. But I hope he can, good luck Lamps you will need it #coybs

He never managed to solve the defensive issues at Chelsea which caused Chelsea to go on a big losing streak and drop down to 9th last season, resulting in him being sacked. The same at Everton would see us down in the relegation zone.

Did poorly with a strong Chelsea team
Qualified for CL in his first season under a transfer embargo and the 2nd season he was sacked half way through and Chelsea went on to win the Champions League. Yeah, he did really poorly, fcuk knows why u sacked Benitez or Martinez or any of the other managers in the last 5 years.

He also had a 17 unbeaten run in the season he was sacked.
He also got them top four and a cup final with a transfer ban. All about how you use stats isn't it.

He also helped assemble a squad /develop the youth that would go on to win a CL of course Tuchel is a much better coach right now, so he was able to push them onto and organise them towards that title but it says something about Lampard as a builder even if he does lack the experience.

Look, it's a risk of an appointment but a calculated one. Given the other option was a man who had never managed here and relegated a team to the German third division I am kind of relieved. If the game against Villa said anything to me it's that we need galvanising as an attacking team maybe he can do it?

Lampard's longest losing streak as manager of Chelsea was 2 games. Its amazing how football fans of a club can only look for negatives and will make them up if they can't find any.

Well done to Everton fans. A young exciting manager, someone that could last a long time and will breathe some fresh air into a great club badly in need of some
