In a nutshell, if match officials break the rules and have a major effect in what is meant to be a fairly officiated game of football, then they are naughty boys and have to make an apology. However if the Manager of Everton breaks the rules by merely hurting someone's feelings by stating the truth, then he has to pay 30 grand to the people that set the rules. I mean really, could inherent corruption be in any more in your face. It is absolutely obscene.

And so ends a season of disgraceful treatment towards Everton Football Club from officials and authorities.

Lets do it all again next season.

I sadly agree. I watch Everton obviously. But i'll watch other clubs games if they're on. Im concerned how far we have slipped. We're a very poor side. At the end of the season it was all grit and fighting hard with very little quality. I see mid table sides in this division playing better football.
My main gripe is midfield. Its terrible. On the days grit and fighting isnt working there is virtually nothing else on offer.
For lampard or anyone else for that matter the turn around in personel is huge. Minimum 2/3 years aswell in reality.

Shocking how many players can't pass a ball in the squad

The fine handed out is a complete joke by the way. The FA should be utterly mortified at the refereeing standards this season

No one will be

It was job done by all concerned. Title race, top 4 race, relegation race all went down to the last day of the season. They’re probably annoyed they couldn’t quite get the outcome they wanted of us going down and Liverpool getting a quad but they gave it a good go. Good for the tv money, the bookmakers, and the ‘product’.

PGMOL will be getting a slap on the back from all involved

I think they will double down on us next season actually - they carried on with the awful decisions against us after the farce handball not given against city, so why should they stop now?

This fine is a disgrace, and shows that they think pmgol have done no wrong.

They had a blatant agenda to send us down last season. We were bad enough ourselves but in all honesty I think we’re easily lower mid table with fair refereeing. The momentum of picking up the odd few points here and there would have meant the pressure and panic of relegation probably wouldn’t have set in as much.

We got absolutely battered though to the point a relegation battle that didn’t look like it was ever truly on suddenly became probable all the way right up to the end with the decisions in the Brentford and Palace games. People will forget but had it not been for heroic performances against United Chelsea Leicester and a turnaround against Palace, we were down.

Points dropped to City, Liverpool, Southampton, Brentford (x2), Spurs, all because of absolutely outrageous refereeing decisions. Then there were the blatant attempts against Newcastle and Palace to try and put the nail in the coffin which we were good enough to I avoid thankfully.

I think they doubled down then because it caused them world wide embarrassment, it being against the champions and might affect the media's darlings
We paid for that poxy apology they gave
It's strange how their major eff ups don't get any punishment, nada, which almost cost us squillions if we went down.
What other organisation doesn't hold their own representatives accountable? baffling

I dont usually buy into stuff like that but i do genuinely wonder if there was an agenda now. The apology VAR city thing would have gone down like a led balloon privately amongst those who did it. Its human nature that when their profession has had egg on its face they will obviously not like it. A cold dish served back to Everton was decisions on the pitch.
Did they want Everton relegated? I'd pretty much say yes.

Not only that but I can’t think of a single borderline/contentious decision that went in our favour all season. Not one.

Midfield is the main issue and has been for years, centre midfield and wide players. There’s a massive rebuild required all over but we’ve said that season after season.

The thing is to rebuild better you have to replace those leaving with better players. We added Gray, Townsend and Rondon to the squad last summer and got worse - we’re now stuck with them until their contracts run out. Just signing people because they’re cheap and available is not going to make us better.

Quality not quantity. Reduce the size of the squad and concentrate on bringing in players who improve the first team. Otherwise we’re just in a perpetual rebuild cycle.

Maybe 18 other clubs will benefit next season when they play at Analfield . I’m sure I heard a commentator say they’d gone over 14 months without conceding a penalty at home. The only statistic I could find was this from April :
”[Opta] Liverpool haven't had a penalty awarded against them in any of their last 46 league matches, the longest active run for any Premier League side”
Well done Frank for speaking the truth.??
