2021/22 Frank Lampard

Apparently Frank isn't implementing a fine protocol like he did at Chelsea. Prefers the players to monitor themselves as he feels with their current struggles it creates further unnecessary pressure. I think it's a misstep as incorporating a structure of accountability would benefit them.

I do worry that Frank will take 5 or 6 weeks to realise things we as fans already know - Gomes being too slow for the league, Coleman being past it, a midfield 2 won’t work, Kenny isn’t good enough, Iwobi is dreadful etc etc.
I think thats maybe the reason he kept Dunc on, to fill him in on all the players capabilities so he doesn't waste weeks. Lampards reputation as a manager at stake too he knows he has to hit the ground running asap.

I think Gomes is done after Tuesday, Frank will have seen enough. Unfortunately he may still have to use him because of injuries, but he will be out the door in the summer

We do have a lot of crap, but that's commensurate with our league position unfortunately. I'd still maintain that we shouldn't be quite as crap as that, but it is what it is now. We just have to be not crap enough for the bottom 3, and then take a deep breath and let Frank start over. Lots of jangled nerves and gnawed fingernails to come though.

I understand what you are saying but at the same time I don’t want Seamus or any Everton player thinking they are impressive if they are not. I want them to aim at becoming impressive, yes. Why do we have to treat the players like they need their butts wiping?

Because they’re such a weak willed over pampered group of cowards that they’ll just stop playing for any manager who dares to try and discipline them. The only way out of this mess is to be their mate and hope they play well a few times to get results and then ship them all out in the summer.

Relegation will be hard to take, but if it means getting rid of the crap and Frank buying people that can actually play football then it might be worth the hurt and humiliation in the long term. Hopefully not too long.

I’m fairly confident a former world class midfielder and now professional football manager will understand more about our players after a couple of weeks than anybody posting on here.

Relegation will destroy this club in its present state - we are a Sunderland Mk II in the making.

No chance mate.

People throw the Sunderland example around a lot but dont understand the position they were in when they went down.

1. Their manager walked once they went down.

2. Their owner was actively looking to sell and was unwilling to invest any money further

3. They had no sellable assets or even any half decent players

If we went down Lampard would still likely stay on, we have an owner comitted to spending money whenever he can and a solid squad Championship speaking.

Even if we needed to sell you have players like DCL and Richarlison who can fetch you £60-70 million each - Sunderlands entire starting 11 who went down would have gone for less than that.
