I wouldn't limit his horizons to this country.

Anyway, this is all on the basis he does well here...hardly a sure thing.

Im not but the point still stands, big teams arnt going to look at him unless he does something special here in the next 2-3 years.

If he does then that benefits us. If he doesnt then we dont have to worry about him being poached which was the original point.

Unless he loses all the rest if his games and gets sacked with us relegated?

I mean, I feel confident enough already he will do enough to be here til end of next season at least but hasnt the last 10yrs taught you not to expect so much so soon?

Going on the Everton we are used to, the more likely outcome would be majority poor transfers in the summer. Bad first half of the season and then talk of him not being good enough.

I think between expecting a super negative, or average or super positive outcome with Everton you'd rule out the positive end of the chart and be delighted if it ever actually happens.

Just a bit sick of the cycle of wild over the top positivity to depressing negativity

Im gonna be sitting on the fence @chicoazul
It is wise to not get sucked into ridiculous shows of commitment after one or two decent performances. This is what I call Andre Gomes Syndrome and it is prevalent amongst very unstable Evertonians although for the purpose of harmony I am certainly not naming any names.
@Toffeelover

Not directly comparable, but I think he would have to achieve Pochettino-like consistency of league finishes here, and/or a cup, to be considered by one of the elite sides.

Whilst it might seem heady now, having us teetering around 7th/8th isn't going to endear him to any of those clubs.

Yep and if that happens then it means we are doing really well so if we are getting to the point where we are worried about him leaving we will be in miles better position than where we are now.

That is some turnaround in 2 weeks

I remember Benitez saying when he first came in that he know what type of team Everton needs to be and what the fans want to see.

He couldn’t have got it more wrong. The fans will put up with a lot after all we’ve been through, but one thing they won’t, is passive football. Especially at Goodison.

I don’t like to keep bringing him up, but it’s hard not to compare a new manager to the previous one.
