It's really quite astounding to me that we sacked Benitez and then didn't hire someone for almost 3 weeks only for that person to be Vitor Periera (feel bad for him but he never ever should have been considered) only to see other clubs like Leeds lose their manager and get in a replacement in 2 days.

I’m not sure extrapolating his suitability is fair based on the sample size. You could argue the free fall started about a year ago. Coming into a poor situation and playing better sides with more settled infrastructures is tough.

This is true but we are where we are (mainly due to you know who) and we need to start winning now before it slips away. Don’t get a sense he’s got what it takes. Hope I’m massively wrong as would love it to work, for the obvious, and because he at least wants to get us playing.

The home performances have been much improved. If we keep that up at home then we will start to turn things around.

The measure is whether the can start putting in better performances away from home. My gut tells me that they will.
