What is certain is that we must start winning football matches. I do not care if a manager appears tough or not. It was the same in Chelsea. Said what the fans wanted to hear, so this is nothing new. It's early days for Lampard, but the trend must be reversed immediately.

If the team manages to show the same effort against teams that we can compare ourselves with, then it is positive, but in recent years we have seen a trend where we have played well against the supposedly better teams, but collapsed against more equal teams. We have had good performances both away against Chelsea and Manchester United this season, and the same under Ancelotti against supposedly better teams.

This is no criticism of Lampard, but a point average of 0.75 after four games is nothing to cheer about.

In our situation, games against the top teams are almost free hits. Lampard's problems are going to be in games in which we get on the ball more, push players on and become vulnerable during the transitions. Lampards short passing leaves us very vulnerable to being countered on.

Our only League wins since September have been home wins against Leeds and Arsenal. Two teams who look to come out and go toe to toe with you.

I must say this , the only thing that I not agree with Frank is him playing Iwoby , he simply is not good enough, we lost yesterday due to his lack of fitness, commitment, desire, after 60 minute he just stopped doing his job, he stopped cover his player , No 27 was using the space that he wasn’t able to cover anymore due to his lack of fitness , SC was completely left on his own and I don’t understand why he wasnt sub earlier , you could see from stands that he is done and we was only at 65 minutes of the game , pathetic , one good games vs Leeds and that it for the entire season

I think if we keep Doucoure fit, we’ve a solid foundation to play well away from home. I would keep DCL on the bench and use him last 20 when defences are tired. Rotate Grey Gordon, Iwobi and el ghazi. There’s enough there to pick points up.

Wouldn't change that starting 11 that much, maybe Grey for Iwobi and a traffic cone for Michael Keane.

if we stay up and Lampard is given time then he will have that midfield balanced and very good. A crap midfield demeans our attack and our defence. With a good midfield and half decent defence teams in this league will do well. Protect the defence and provide for the attack. I think Allan, Doucs and VDB if staying fit will drag us back up the table eventually

I'm no fan of Iwobi's, but, it's unfair to slate him for a lack of effort or fitness on yesterday's performance. It was his lack of ability rather than a lack of effort that had him subbed. He actually put a shift in and was tracking back constantly, he's just not good enough for this level.

Despite losing 3 in 4 Lampard has still been a breath of fresh air after Benitez. No idea whether it will work out in the long term but he represents the club so much better than the former manager ever could.
