2021/22 Frank Lampard

Lampard somehow has to get a tune out of what he’s got to get above 35 points in the 13 games remaining. I wasn’t expecting anything out of City and Spurs away, it will be the games against teams around us we have to pick up 3s and 1s. There’s enough time and quality to fix it. I just worry with the lack of character amongst them it perhaps can’t be fixed, not by Lampard, not by anyone.

Congrats on getting your forecast right but what’s happening is that Lampard and the team are entering a funnel.

No points from City and Spuds isn’t the problem: the lack of attacking fluency/ongoing defensive problems on show are. So slightly out of form Wolves are almost certain to return to winning ways against Everton.

Then fellow strugglers the team will play after that will be emboldened by the zero points against the aforementioned teams and will play with freedom and also win as they’ll all see Everton fixture as prime opportunity for three points. And so on.

Confidence is everything and once a team enters that funnel where they’re losing to best teams and getting little change out of the lesser teams because it has neither attacking fluency nor defensive solidity then relegation is almost assured.

In the funk they’re in now the players can convince themselves that there’s a good reason why they can’t beat anyone and mentally/tactically collapse not only against likes of Spurs but also against fellow strugglers.

I don’t see Everton getting to 30 points with these players and with Lampard as manager. The graffiti artists who chased away a manager far more qualified than Lampard to keep Everton up have changed the club’s history—and not in a good way.

Because, post-relegation, I see far more chance of an extended spell out of the top flight than of the club bouncing straight back up.

This is all complete hindsight and can be revisited with further hindsight come the end of the season. If you thought Pereira was a decent option more fool you.

I think tonight was Colemans watershed moment mate. It was an abysmal performance not just as just as captain, but as a professional.

He can't say he's earned his 70k for that. Absolutely finished.

I love the fella as well mate, honestly behind the scenes I know he's a top top man, loves the club, loves the fans, genuinely a top man in a game fully of greedy knobheads.

But he was absolutely destroyed tonight snd he gets targeted most games.
I fully agree
But the club signed a child to come in and replace him in a relegation scrap

That Patterson signing gets worse and worse by the minute, and not even because he's bad, but because he was just not the right signing for where we were.

Look at Hasselhuttel. I cant stand him, he has 2 9-0 drubbings to his name one at home and got through it and has assembled a decent team. If Frank keeps us up this year we will see a much better outfit next season and a big cull of this shower we currently putting up with.

That's 5 league games for Lampard and 3 points from 15. I'm not trying to make any judgements but I do feel benitez if he had the better players available that lampard had would have got a very bare minimum of 3 and more likely 7 points from those games. Luckily other results have gone our way in recent weeks but based on that performance we are in massive trouble .

There won't be a cull. The club have consistently refused to do it! Why would it happen now?

The club have always retained crsp players and pedalled the evolution not revolution nonsense. If they were serious about improving there would have been an enormous clear out last summer. It didn't happen. They appointed Benitez to oversee what they thought would be mid table irrelevance

He was shot last week on 60 mins against City and he was targeted by them. We need an alternative. Maybe even Godfrey if we can get him back fit.

I was in the home end (very much kept my head down!) and my Spurs mate said we played well in parts. I’m not sure about that! We were utterly abysmal. Injuries have ravaged an already terrible squad and we still haven’t replaced our two best players: Lucas Digne and James Rodriguez.

What I can’t understand is why we perform so well at home under Frank but so poorly away from home under Frank. As Frank said in his post-match interview: we fans are like a 12th man when we play at Goodison under Frank. We really give the players a boost. We’ll need that if we are going to avoid playing Championship football against the likes of Bristol City next year.

The general consensus within the media was that Lamps was mad to take on this job. He’s now realising just how difficult a job it really is.

Benitez took us from the top 10 to relegation fodder and his parting shot was selling the last top player we had.

People are pointing out that we’ve lost our last two matches, but those matches have both been against top teams. When do we ever beat Man City or Spurs? We would have gained a point against the champions had the officials not made an enormous cockup, for which they have now apologised.

Benitez got a lot of the lesser teams out of the way and left Lamps with a tough run.

We drew twice and won twice in our 4 previous games against Spurs.

Hibbert cup final job, at least in his interview he said he played plop and made loads of mistakes

Accurate. Depressingly so.

If Lampard gets us through this then I can see a MASSIVE number of players leaving in the summer.

He just needs to keep us up and I think we should finally see big changes on the pitch.

Did you look at the results he pulled in the prior 14 games mate? Jesus Christ the amount of revisionism about Benitez is astounding
