Yup, people are panicking about Wolves, but in reality it is what we do in the games against Burnley, Watford, and Brentford that will seal our fate. We have matches against Newcastle and Crystal Palace as well that we can target. We need a minimum of five points from the three relegation head-to-heads. If we can't get at least that, we will have no complaints. If we can't take another four from the Newcastle and Palace games, then we're asking for trouble.

It'll be very tight, though. We badly need to get three our four points over the next week and hope Burnley go into a tailspin.
We know the games that we need to pick up points and are going to keep us up, yesterday wasn’t one of them, although it’d help if we were to pick up points where we don’t expect to. The next 2 game are massive nothing less than 4 points will be good enough.

It wasn't all tactical last night. Like for example the third goal, there is no way Keane was supposed to come that high, miss the header, fail to recognise Kane's run, and not have the legs to get back. It was a basic individual error, and could have happenned in any system.

We played generally far too high. But there were basic errors all over the show that no system could have fully covered up. If players lose their individual battle in every area of the field, then the system is pointless.

100%.

They break the press, fine, but there's still a back 4, there's still midifielders tracking back. If they're not set up individually, you're done.

He looked shell shocked last night.

I think he may have fallen into the trap of looking at the squad before arriving and then thinking that it was good and all he needed to do was to hammer in the basics to capitalise on it.

He forgot a couple of big things: these players are not good; apart from Gordon they are below bang average all over the pitch; and he also forgot that PL football is all about playing with heart and determination, and besides Coleman we dont have any of that commodity at all.

He'll be bricking it today that he's going to be the manager that finally takes Everton down after 70 years in the top flight.

His CV will be in tatters. He is fighting for his reputation as a PL manager now and the resources he has to get out of it are worse than Dyche's at Burnley below us.

The only hope he has is to be humble and acknowledge that it's out of his control largely and that only 3/4 fantastic 'performances' from the fans at Goodison can save us now. He surely knows he can do nothing with these players. No one can. Guardiola would spend 2 games with this lot and be reaching for a revolver to finish himself off.

We are bottom three material and only the fans can hand us PL top 4 performances.

Take that to the fans Frank. Be humble and say you and the team need them to be the 12th, 13th and 14th man.

He has consistently been very complimentary of the crowd. He said he couldn't wait to sunday to get back to Goodison.

He made a few mistakes last night but he's not stupid. He knows how important the home matches are.

I dont count anything he does as mistakes. These players are mistakes. It starts and ends with them.

He has to forget them and turn to the fans. They are his assets now, and only them.

This.

I’d rather take a positive approach into games. As you say, Benitez tried the defensive way and that didn’t work.

Let’s be honest, Spurs have been very erratic as well so having a go at them wasn’t that bad a plan.

Everything was looking ok until chaos Keane offered his weekly gift to put us on the back foot again.
Lampard obviously has a preferred way of playing we’ve seen it at home and we’re all in favour of it. He wants us to play like that away aswell the problem we have, which he has eluded to, is he’s missing his 2 best centre backs. So when they’re regularly giving away chances and goals the confidence of the team evaporates and you end up with what happened last night. The defence was all over the place last night, Mina is the only leader we have at the back and he’s never fit.

I know Lampard has always generally not been that popular with non Chelsea fans, partly because he is supposed to be a Tory. But take a look at the levels of hatred directed his (and our) way in the comments below the line of the Guardian report on yesterday's match.

Yeah, I saw that. It's a bit odd tbh. Sure he's a tory but there are bigger dildos managing than Lampard.

The absolute dilly dally of appointing this guy was ridiculous.

If we’d done it earlier he might have had time to realise that his defenders were unreliable crap and done something about it rather than bringing Alli in.

Benitez was sacked on January 16th and we didn’t appoint Lampard, a free agent, until deadline day. Embarrassing organisation, amateur ownership.

He came and the players turned it on in training for a few weeks, now they are reverting to mean in terms of being mentally fragile, lacking in leadership or care - looking at others as if its someone's elses fault - how many manager is it now with this group - Pennys dropped with Frank last night, id have them out running up and down docks this morning and polishing the youth teams boots.
