The players are spineless and don't care except for Gordon who puts a shift in

No doubt alot were thumbing through holiday brochures during Lampard's Post match talk

Tough run in. Cannot see where points are coming from

Think that was the first time he got it wrong tactically last night. Should’ve dropped deep and frustrated them, we played right into their hands.

That said, he can’t help how utterly abysmal that defence is, nor is he at fault for the same crap players with weak mentalities and bad attitudes throwing games time and again. He’ll know who the culprits are now and if we stay up, he’ll be punting half of them as quickly as he can. Just hope we scrape through so we can rebuild.

I imagine we pressed in order to try and start with the ball higher up the pitch for a couple of reasons.

1) as we've seen our players can be a mess when playing it out of the back deep

2) when was the last time we counter attacked and got a shot on target, never mind scored.

It was very Martinez from Lampard last night. Hopefully the difference is that he's learned his lesson and we don't get two years of rinse and repeat.

It's half after 8pm Tuesday night here in NZ, (7.30ish am Tuesday morning in UK) and I have just seen the score...which tells you much more than a little, about how much I care about Everton these days...my MotM was Crab Iwobi...did he even play?

He set us up in a manner that would guarantee a hefty loss.

Have to agree with this to be honest.

I’m not sure what good it does the team or the club playing a high line and going for it when our defenders are knackered, against a team who are lethal on the counter with Son and Kane.

At least if you play backs to the wall and try to Nick a goal you’re unlikely to get tonked 5-0 and have the media ringing the death bells.

Spurs are very good on the counter, playing high against them was asking for trouble. Very poor individual performances last night from most of the players. Very poor tactics from the manager. I like Lampard and I believe he will get it right here, given enough time. I do fear that we may be relegated and have to rebuild from the championship.

If that proves to be the case, I hope we hold our nerve and stick with Lampard, but, last night was very poor, not just the players, but, the manager as well. I hope lessons have been learned.

Bad tactics last night, everyone knows that if you press spurs and try to possess the ball you'll get picked off with their counter attack, we should have just played for a draw. played right in to their hands. I just hope our home form can get us enough points. the next 2 games must yield 6 points or at the very least 4.

They did the same to City and Liverpool under Conte with the counter, let alone us.

On the other hand they've been clueless against more defensively drilled sides.

The thing is, this defending deep digging in has only worked with this group, when we’ve played 4 centre backs across the back and played in empty stadiums

We had games under koeman, ancelotti, Benitez Amd big Sam where this group got ripped to pieces, parking the bus.

That being said after tonight I do expect Frank to change away from home now, not park the bus, but be slightly more defensive.
We can’t afford to lose at Watford or Burnley

I have no doubt he will get us out of this mess.
We will get points where we are not expecting to get some.

We have to make Goodison hell on earth for every minute of every game for opposing teams for the remainder of the season.
After seeing that shambolic performance...you "have no doubt " we will.avoid relegation! Wish I shared your optimism or even understood the basis for it.

At Chelsea, Lampards team conceded 54 goals in the league in his first season. 15 more than the previous season.

The season he was fired, they conceded 26 goals in the first half of the season. In the same amount of games Tuchels side conceded 10.

The following season. Tuchels side conceded 18 goals.

If you think Lampard is going to sort out our defence, you're badly mistaken.
