Franks appointment as manager 'feels' good.

I was wrong about Rafael though.

This time, based upon the managerial pole, it looks like the fan base has got it's man.

If this goes belly up, it will be interesting to see how the alter egos, of many on here, react.

C'mon Frank!
The fan base only ‘got its man’ in so far as he was one of the only ones acceptable from those available to us.

The fan base compromised and fair play to it.

We have gone from FSW wanting to bring in Sean Longstaff to Frank Lampard bringing in Delle Alli in the space of a few weeks. Thank everything that the previous chapter is closed and this one looks a lot brighter already, the backroom staff are decent and if Ashley Cole does come in then along with Bainesy and some young fullbacks signed we could have a chance of playing a decent game. Still concerned over the central defence but if anyone can get them playing it is going to happen now. UTFT

We were linked with him multiple times before Benitez. Not sure Benitez even knew who he was from the quotes at the time.

Rafael sanctioned deals along with Moshiri after Brands left and he could have said no to Mykolenko just like he turned down Coutinho, sold off Digne and got rid of James. If it was just Moshiri doing the deal, I'd be even more concerned.

Exactly, it's not like we wanted Benitez. We did want the club shaken up, and we got that...to the point of chaos.

Now we have Lampard coming in with a fairly clean slate on a rebuild. The tactical naivete he showed at Chelsea concerns me for the relegation slog. The fact that he's the kind of guy that can attract and will play talented kids is what we need on the recruitment side.

If the backroom staff can sort him on the tactics, we should be fine. Big if. Baines and Lampard should work well together on the kids - you've got hard workers who obviously know what it takes to have a long and successful career, who worked together for years and years, and who should be on the same page.

Like it or lump it Lucas Digne had a lot to do with it as if he had not had the balls to question Rafael tactics and management style he could have still been the manager and Longstaffe would have been in ? frightening thought

We all make mistakes in management, been there myself many times over the last few years. He's young enough to go yeah made a mistake learnt from it adapt and move on. The advantage we have in a way is he won't be a stubborn old goat it's my way or the highway.

Backroom staff has a shed load of experience and for one I'm really buzzed about those appointments.

Good win for the FA cup against the Bees our tails will be up and on we go. We beat those horse slappers and it'll be a different story about relegation. The only one I have concerns about is citeh at home but I'll take a point all day long. End of the day for the next few games they need to treat as a world cup final. That'll sort the men from the boys for sure.

I think the Chelsea job came along too soon for him, not a surprise he wasn't ready. We have different expectations and he won't have Abramovich breathing down his neck after every defeat. He should do well here we have no superstars.

Arguably, the reason he played as long as he did is because he's a stubborn old goat who wanted to play and wouldn't give up. This is both a positive and a negative.

Backroom staff looks quality. Experienced but not too old to be a fit with Lampard.

It's very high pressure right now - we need to have safety more or less sorted by mid-March since the run-in is rough. Lampard's probably a good guy for a situation with urgency.

Can't say I love away to Conte coming off a probable midweek FA Cup fixture, either. He's the kind of manager that has eaten Lampard's lunch in the past.

Many will ask why Lampard has gone for two players who have a lot of similar qualities, such as ghosting into threatening positions, but when you consider that current midfield have only scored three goals this season, the additions are somewhat self-explanatory.

(Not counting wingers of course) but wow.

The FSW legacy will only be wiped once we hit 40points.
I think Frank can do it and he’s building an excellent back room team. Looks really positive.
We need a good Cup performance but more importantly at least 1, 2 or even 4/6 points in the first 2 league games.
There is no way the bottom 3 will get anywhere near 40 points. Would be nice to hit 40 though considering where we are now.
