2021/22 Frank Lampard

He was looking backward again today in his press conference talking about "it was this way before I arrived".

That has to stop.

Three points tomorrow and this will all feel way better.
I think he has a sense of entitlement, Dave, and it worries me. He only got this job because the club was in trouble, ans his role is to get us out of it. Him talking about the past is stating the obvious, and it begs the question: what are you going to do about it, Frank? I think he's way out of his depth, Dave, I really do.

I said before he wouldn't have been my first choice. However, he's here and we cant do anything other than believe in him and give him our total support until the end of the season.

If we survive I think he'll be a better manager for it and we can crack on with him; if we take the drop then he'll be sacked anyway.

I know someone who works at Finch Farm in an admin capacity and she said that Frank is never away from the place. He’s doing 50 to 60 hours a week. So his dedication can’t be questioned.

But sadly he’s never been in this situation before. Managers with better pedigree and more experience than him (Benitez anyone?) have struggled to get a tune out of this squad of players. And I don’t even blame the players because they seem to be giving their all. That’s the frightening thing.

Uncomfortable truth this. People can’t say they weren’t told about these players though for years. Lampard’s tenure so far just proves this, but of course the same lot who blamed Benitez for everything wrong at Everton will just blame Lampard and the next manager and the next manager.

Some of them do, the others just overlook both Lampard and the players whilst continuing to blame Benitez months after he left.

I get people who blame Koeman/Walsh and Brands after their departure but Benitez done nothing but sell Digne who had been bang average for over 12 months but counter balance that with him signing Gray and 7 goal Townie for a combined £1.7 million and bringing Gordon on from being another Kenny/Dowell to a solid squad option.

And James, he got shut of Bernard as well didn.t he. It was under FSW that we solidly lost game after game with his awful team selection, tactics and subbing and why we are where we are.

He is a real football man, i like that, watch tomorrow night he will spend 90 minutes standing on the edge off the pitch, watching and talking to players. I like managers who do that, remember Walter Smith would sit in the main stand for the first half, hated that

James would have wanted absolutely nothing to do with our plight at present (if he was fit to play over half the season).

Benard was useless mate - Townie replaced him and has scored 7 goals and bagged numerous assists on half Benards wage.
