I know, off topic, but I like to call him RIDA (Rotund Iberian Dining Assistant), but your appellation works as well.

Had to go work for a client for a month, so wasn't able to connect except for looking at match reports and getting depressed (the client was a Liverpool supporter as well, the Axx).

How is he working out? I mean is it really working out? I can't make head or tail out of the reports, except we got tonked by Tottenham and the client liked to put that in my face every time we met in a personal capacity, I would have liked to beat him up by the end. So how is Lampard really doing?

That’s the thing you get out what you put in so it’s good to hear that he is taking with such seriousness. The thing that stands out is he doesn’t pass the book when we don’t do well and he doesn’t take all the praise when we do well very good trait to have. I think provided we can spend in the summer (as a premier league club) I think we have a manager and coaching team who will bring the good times back

A few of the older generation of blues from the glory days I know said exactly the same thing. The telling thing is for me Everton have o lay won things with English managers

We can't blame Benitez for taking Newcastle down, and not blame Frank for taking us down.

Benitez was a big part - massive in fact, but Lampard has had ample opportunity now to get points on the board.

I get what your saying but taking over from a manager that has just destroyed the confidence of the fans and players for 2/3 of the season and then writhing the last two weeks of his reign has got the director sacked , lost the what is supposedly the carpets team in the league, sold your only quality defender and the only lb at the club , then spent the money on two players that can’t even get in the first team despite one of them being the only person at the club that plays in his own position , then using up one of you loans to sign a player that was not good enough for villa. All while the team has been on a run of 1 win in 13 games? That is not franks fault and he has managed to get these cowards at least playing for him and putting the effort in.

To even consider sacking Frank Lampard is madness irrespective of where we end up at the end of this season. Chopping and changing managers has put us in the position we are in. The club is a basket case, the owner and the Board have have brought a once great club to its knees. Frank is doing as well as can be expected given the players he has at his disposal, a combination of Alex Ferguson, Pep and Klipperty Klopp couldn't turn our squad into winners. Frank is a young manager with a good team around him but he is going to need time to change the club, he has to deal with an owner who thinks he knows football, a Board who are useless and operate in the transfer market with the Premier League looking over his shoulder. If Frank can keep us up this year he deserves a lot of credit, if he can improve us next season, maybe get us mid table he is a miracle worker.

Yeah course mate. A team who were 2nd in the table at Xmas last season and its a miracle to keep them up and get them mid table. Wow

If he can translate his passion into his tactics then great.

Very few managers celebrated the way he has in recent years, at a last minute winner… but make no mistakes, he’s got a lot wrong so far, and it still concerns me, but passion and care for the club is a solid 10/10 for me.

Mate he’s trying to build a bridge and all he has as materials is straw… with so many players not good enough it’s hard to set up a team. Add in injuries and suspensions and it’s near on impossible.

We can’t sit back and defend , Rafael tried it and is meant to be a master at it and we won 1 in 13…. We can’t control midfeild as our players can’t pass and we can’t hold a high line as are defenders can’t concentrate and run like they’re under water .

Add in that Richy can’t hold the ball up and we have no focal point up front , and it’s hard to see how we can control any sort of game.

The only thing he can control with any consistency is the effort and bringing the fans and the team together and I think he’s done that very well so far.
