2021/22 Frank Lampard

Lampard has had to play Liverpool, City, United and Spurs, and West ham in those 10 games. The loss to Burnley was poor, but he hasn't had an easy run by any stretch of the imagination.
True that, we have some easier games coming, it's still on the last two home games for me

Benitez's first 12 has no relevance to the state he'd gotten the team/squad in by the time he belatedly got the boot.
Don't get me wrong, when it was time for him to go it was time for him to go, however you can only blame him for so long, its about the players, and always has been.

Sadly it was time for him to go long before he went. (Even putting aside the fact he should never, EVER have been appointed in the first place)

We've been saying that for years though - through completely different sets of players*.

* Unless of course we're laying all the blame for this shambles on Seamus Coleman, which would seem.... harsh.

Performance won't keep us up, points will, like yesterday, did we perform well then in your opinion? Was one shot acceptable?
Performance means nothing
Cba arguing with stupid, but I’ll try.

I thought we performed well yesterday given the circumstances, and tactically we were bang on the money - it’s not the way I want to see Everton play by any stretch, and I’m certain it’s not the way frank wants us to play, but he set us up the best way possible, and bar a cowardly corrupt ref, we may have even got 3 points, or 1.

Anyway, Let’s hope we can get the required number of points by seasons end, and I hope we can if we continue to perform and fight like yesterday, but I know we have more chance of doing that with frank than we would have had with your rotund friend.

I felt OK this morning until I made the mistake of reading the BBC website fans forum on the Everton game. Taking aside the expected hatred and bile from delighted Reds fans, I was surprised to see so much anti Everton opinions expressed there. Apparently many are delighted we are likely to be relegated. For a club which has hung around the PL for decades without threatening anybody, why the contempt and delight. Granted I never saw the derby game and never will but calling us the biggest load of cheats in the PL and the worst football team ever seen must be over the top? Granted that many RS fans have no other connection with Merseyside than LFC, it was not nice to read about the abuse from a section of the RS crowd concerning our perilous situation. Would we do the same in reverse? I can't hear myself chanting going down going down to next door neighbours. Can you? The one consistent theme amongst the gloating was that Frank L is a waste of space as a manager and the wrong appointment. Probably correct, but who else could/should we have got, following the calamity of Benitez?

They hate us because of the Moshiri/Usmanov money thing, and they are right to do so, we've bent the financial rules and come unstuck, quite an achievement to wash that much money and take a club backwards.

Yeah I hope so too, we can beat Chelsea if we get the line up right, same with Palace and Brentford, even just 7 points from them might be enough

I think we'll get 7 from the 3. It might be enough, if not we've got 3 more chances to get something away and should beat Watford which might allow for a defeat at the weekend.

The venom we’ve received for yesterdays performance from the general footballing population is bizarre. Makes me think most of the so called neutrals posting in comments sections are reds in disguise tbh. As when Chelsea used the exact same tactics in the Slippy G game it was lauded as a masterclass- and that was a team with a far better manager and players employing those tactics.

In regards to the overall relegation picture though I do understand why people would want us down. Pound for pound we are probably the worst run club in the league (besides from maybe United) so I think many fans view us being relegated as being deserved when you factor in money spent, mismanagement right from the top etc. People do seem to hate Lampard as well. Like, really hate him. There’s a proper agenda in the media that’s he’s been handed everything on a silver platter and it comes with a desire to see him fail. It’s just a lot of schadenfreude going on.

I think you’re being way too nice though to be surprised that we faced “going down” chants yesterday from our city neighbours and to imagine we wouldn’t do the same lol. Judging by the year in your username though it could be a generational thing. Even my good friends who are reds are up front with me and tell me they want us relegated. The oft used phrase is “I don’t want you to do a leeds but a few years down there would be sound”. I suppose it’s better they’re honest than patronisingly sympathetic.

I wouldn't want Liverpool relegated. An ideal scenario for me would be them finishing 17th every season and losing every derby.
